Our impeachment, when it comes to the vote on the President in the House, is as close to a vote of no confidence in parliamentary systems as we can come. The difference, thankfully, is that it does not disrupt government by forcing early elections, and the more political slant it has, makes a conviction extremely unlikely. The perception to voters, if the Democrats persist in this folly, will be that this is all a waste of time.
