I don't think this conspiracy is theory...too many observable facts to consider...question is, are they unaware of the consequences or are they well aware of what they are doing.

We need to have a discussion as to what we want to do physically and what we want to have AI do.
Certain cultural norms might be valuable to humanity...like human mail delivery, restaurants serving customers with real people, cooked by real people and served real food...etc.

As a species we need real physical and verbal interactions with one another.
