Canada beginning to feel what it means to go it alone

Looks like the arrogant, leftist Trudeau clown-show in Canada is beginning to see what takes to play at the big-boy table alone. Nice job alienating your bodyguard.

China sees Canada as a prize ripe to be swiped. They destroyed the quality of life for Canadians in Vancouver by driving the price of the housing and cost of living through the roof recently. Good luck with that Canada...

I think it's about time for 'no more nice guy'. The actions of the Chinese are beginning to bore me! They can't even make up their minds about how many children their families are allowed to have. How do we expect them to behave themselves?

I agree. They are not a “good” government by any measure, and they are not playing nice.

The manner we allow them to continue economic domination at the expense of their ignorant people is astonishing.

Nothing is a ironic as a “Union First” bumper sticker in a Walmart parking lot. Sam Walden is rolling in his grave.

What I am hoping for is a complete collapse of the Chinese economy. It has been artificially propped up through currency manipulation for 20 years.

Seems doubtful with the trade imbalance, but a significant increase in yuan value would really hurt them.

Which is why we should be agitating for them to unpeg their currency. It should have been one of the major terms to them getting Most Favored Nation trade status. Then it should have been a condition of them joining the IMF. I had held out hopes that it would have been a condition of the yuan being an IMF currency, but no such luck.

I thought it stopped the yuan from being an IMF currency.

You would have thought so, but the last information I had was that China successfully lobbied the IMF to have the yuan included as a reserve currency - despite it still being pegged against the US dollar. Of course the Chinese are one of the largest buyers of gold right now - along with India. They are number 3 right now behind the US and Germany. I think they are trying to amass it so that in the event of a worldwide currency crunch they can have the economic leverage they need to maintain their control. (India has largely been buying it for ornamental purposes.)

The Canucks should ramp things up on the Chinese lady they have "arrested" She needs to go in the pokey in the exact same conditions as the two Canadians that they have arrested. Mollycoddling has done do good. Canada is like a bunch of boy scouts playing with the communist Chinese...an organized crime syndicate.
