Sounds like a good idea. And lets keep it closed until the immigrants have been assililated into Americam culture and way of like like was done in the past. I'm not saying that the immigrants culture should be forgotten and /or lost. I'm saying that the immigrants shuld become americans and truly integrate into American society, not form small enclaves of their homelands . Be proud of your heritage both the old and the new.

Texas just took the position that the Border situation is an 'Emergency'. Isn't that amazing? I thought they were all asleep. Looks like something woke them up! My family has been in Texas since 1830. Wouldn't have taken them that long!

We must put an end to Asylum claims.

They should originate OUTSIDE of the USA.

If inside the USA, they have to be represented by SPLC or some such group, and for EVERY DENIED case, or a NO SHOW. The representing legal firm must pay a $100,000 non-refundable court fee!

Thanks for that info, Blair. I am not familiar with avocado genetics. It is good food but I would not miss it too much if it disappeared.

I don't consume much Guacamole or any other Mexican food.

What is funny is that if you understand the avocado varieties, the Haas that most people are dependent on now was originally an American invention and new trees must actually be grafts. If you plant a seed, it will revert back to a wild/native variety with a much harsher taste.

    I wish that would happen.

Feinstein played a crucial role on suffocating the Valley of water. She was/is in the pocket of the eco terrorists.

Many of those children are not traveling with parents, but are part of the human trafficking and sex trade. The FBI is discovering lots of child labor centers where migrant minors are essentially slave labor. There is also, unfortunately, a ready pedophile market anxious for a new supply of underage targets. We need to institute DNA testing to verify parentage and stop this disgusting form of victimization.

I'd like to see the President order California to restore water flow to the central valley. That stupid move nearly killed California produce production, all to save a bait fish that isn't endangered.

Agents that now man the ports of entry will be transferred to cover open border areas. Any supporting National Guard or active military will likewise shift resources to strengthen the barrier free stretches.

Yes, I am aware of that...👹

I was wondering though: don't avocadoes grow in Central Valley? Why do we need the Mexican version?

Besides, the fear mongers also say that 40% of vegetables/fruits would also be cut. Anyone recalls the contaminated lettuce from Mexico causing deaths due to Salmonella?

I used to work in a border town in Mexico, and we used to ship a lot of stuff through the port in Tecate. As I remember, there was a pedestrian/automobile port line, and a separate one for commercial shipments. Why arent they talking about closing the people traffic, but leaving the commercial ports open so we can get avocados and such. Seems like that would make sense. I just dont trust government anymore when they resort to politics instead of rationality.

Very much that yes yes yes!!!! Unfortunately, they gov doesn't like taking away the "free" popular stuff. (Or special olympics funding even though they do not need gov support...)

But I do wonder what closing it will help. I mean, won't people just try coming in the non ports of entry?

To paraphrase Milton Friedman: “You can have open borders or a welfare state, but you can’t have both.”

Some produce will not get here. The snowflakes will freak out when they can’t get their crushed avovado on wheat toast.

Oh yes, we are reading that should the border be closed, we won't have avocados, of all things.

I would applaud the decision to close the border in Arizona. I would recommend MANY guns and a willingness to kill since the mexicans will not respect the decision and even work in concert to promote an invasion attempt. Citizens of Arizona, myself included, would volunteer to head south to support this.

It sickens me to see all those poor people jammed up behind a fence on the Border. But why in the world did they drag their children along with them? They refused help from Mexico saying they wanted to come to America! Sure. Look at all the free stuff they will get. The DHHS has all those Federally Qualified Health Centers paid for with our tax dollars and they won't let their people ask if the immigrants are legally here or not! That is a no no! Been there. Seen it!

I have two very good friends who are American citizens. Both have lovely families, children born here. One served four years in the U. S. Army and the other married a school teacher friend and is a landscaper. He was so proud showing me the little American flag he got when he gained his citizenship. They did not bring their relatives in with them. They said their relatives can come in the way they did!
