Politicians look to separate Chicago from Illinois to create 51st state

I can think of a few others cities that should be made into their own states.
1. New York City
2. Los Angles,
3. San Francisco
4. Denver
The states they currently bully about can use a rest from their hijacking all the state revenue and pass all the stupid laws.

I have a new computer with a very strange keyboard! I can be typing along and all I see is a garbled mess. Then I have to go over to the right side of my screen and click on Eng US, but it won't stay there! That word above is supposed to be 'conservative'......

Is it time to divide the states of America? Clearly we are no longer united.

Only if you want to give away 2 votes in the senate and the electoral college for every city, and thereby encourage other liberal cities to do the same. You'll have the cities' socialists forcing their unconstitutional looting on everyone with only armed revolution as a way out. It's bad enough to have the looting scum in DC that haven't produced anything but inflation and misery for a century and voting to steal even more. Let the liberal cities band together to form a separate country without support from the heartland. Suzanne is right; that would collapse under its own unproductive spending- just as the US is bound to do if there is no course correction.

When they were first putting together the US gov't, Thomas Jefferson wrote about the possibility of cities have radically different policies so everyone could have the gov't they want. It would be very good to find someone way to realize that dream.

I don't know if just being separate states would do it. There would have to be states with more autonomy than they have now.

Instead of states, why not make them into their own countries. Then they can provide for their own defense, health care, welfare, education, etc, with no help from the rest of us. They couldn't last fifteen minutes on their own. It would be a good lesson in how Socialism and Communism doesn't work.

The resource these sicties place on their supporint states is enormous and in no way recompensed by the "gain" provided by the cities. Put them on their own so they don't bankrupt the remainder of the state.

I think one Chicago is more than enough. Unless there are some 'conservation adults' there. Is that an oxymoron?
