Exactly. If you buy into Christian theology then Jesus committed suicide. Because he could have stopped it any time he wanted but allowed it to happen. Indeed, came here for that purpose. Of course, if he was only a man then he was crucified by the Romans. The only way it's not suicide is if JC isn't God.

I've had some other experiences like that since then; the couple that broached (eventually) into recognition (one I remember pretty fondly was comparing our respective "day jobs") was acting was fun, the fame was kinda cool, the hours way long, the money not bad, but they envied having a normal life they knew they'd never have again.

That made me really grateful for what I have!

Christ is the most bizarre myth of all, since the trilogy states that God is "Father, Son and Holy Spirit". Therefore, God committed suicide both as Father and Son, leaving only the Holy Spirit out of this. Sad to say, there really is no way around this...and suicide sometimes is a virtue. In Japan it´s called "an honorable death", and clinically we consider it "assisted death" or "euthanasia".

I think you're right! He certainly knows about death... Of a society, a nation, brain power...

I´ve suffered severe deppressions, but instead of suicide I signed into a clinic and then continued with psychiatric treatment. Reasons vary, from abuse and violence suffered to undercompensations at work, at home, etc. Ultimately Dr. Viktor Frankl saved me with his books and one phrase; "deppression is wrath repressed". So true, I also had my "Mr. Niceguy" facade on, so deep that I didn´t even get mad with my aggressors, I pardonned them. Thankfully, I stopped "offering my other cheek" and began reacting, mostly by the use of the written word, but sometimes in speech as well. I no longer suffer depression and respect is slowly but surely being earned, from "mentally ill" to a "confrontative bastard" I went; much rather be considered the second than the first anyhow.

RW was a happy, cheerful character and actor with many dark secrets and hard edges. Alcohol and Cocaine, depression and ultimately suicide show that this beautiful person couldn´t handle being "all good", confused as I was since the world and, especially mankind in general, often need a "kick in the teeth" in the right direction....

RIP "Sir" Robin Williams, "though shalt be missed"

His depression could have been caused by a chemical imbalance. It is a great loss of a major talent. I doubt if he realized how much love he inspired. Goodbye, Robin. We'll miss you ... a lot.

What great exchange you had without realizing who he was. He probably LOVED that you just thought he was a "regular" guy, that you knew was familiar, just not why. I have always felt bad for people in the public eye who just get mobbed. I know their profession has that side effect, however, people should show some restraint, decorum and not pester them or gush. It's ridiculous behavior.

I always thought Obama's talents lie in a very different drection. I think the man would be a wonderful funeral director!!

I watched that with my mom! I don't think I'd ever seen her laugh that hard! He was brilliant at his craft.

I agree. Some light has gone out of a world sorely in need of it. Say what one will about his politics, he was unmatched in his gift of conveying a story, funny or otherwise.
