I am actually sad over this. Having watched his career starting with Mork and Mindy, up to the present, it's terrible. And what could have caused such anguish to cause him to take his own life? Dead Poet's Society come to life.

God is all knowing and all powerful. His supernatualness created and is responsible for everything that exists and happens anywhere.

Unless it is evil. Then the devil did it.

Sorry, If Christ was GOD than he let himself be nailed and crucified, as well as judged by Roman and Hebrew law. He could have at any time avoided all this with his will, and God the Father´s for that matter. But neither did, because the plan was that of continuing to victimize the holy and force mankind into unholyness. As Adam and Eve, why create temptation if Eden was a Paradise? Who created the tempting snake, the Devil, etc? The answer is GOD.

You are attempting to hijack the definition of suicide. Christ did not nail himself to the cross. He did not take His own life. You're trying to twist what happened to satisfy your own narrative - an example of confirmation bias and a logical fallacy.

No one is telling you that you have to become a Christian, but those of us who are Christian are going to speak up when you attempt to preach about our religion and twist it to your own ends.

That belief stems from a misguided attempt to reconcile the various Christian sects in about 421 AD. A document was created called the Nicean Creed, which if you are at all logical is one of the most unintelligible and non-sensical documents ever written. The problem with this document is that it was created to try to democratically address a matter of theology. And what came out was a document that is so riddled with obvious contradictions that it makes a laughingstock of Christians the world over.

One thing I would point out, however, is that there are many Christian sects which deny the authenticity of this document as a foundation for defining God. I would only ask that you not judge ALL Christian sects based on the flawed fundamentals of what only a few have adopted.

Regarding your claim that Christ committed suicide, however, that is patently false. Christ's trial, condemnation, and execution were all illegal under Jewish law at the time. The Jewish elders (scribes, Pharisees, Sadducees, etc.) viewed Christ as a threat to their power base over the interpretation of Jewish law. Christ had amassed a significant following and had publicly denounced the existing leaders as hypocrites.

According to the Bible, Christ was arrested and taken by the Jewish leaders at night - the first abrogation of their own law. Then he was taken to a secret meeting of the leaders, including the High Priest, Caiaphus. According to Jewish law, no trials were to be performed at night in secret or without providing the defendant the equivalent of a defense attorney. Knowing that the tribunal was a farce, Christ remained silent. Though the tribunal had full authority to have Christ banned from the synagogues, etc., they feared the responses of the people when their antics were discovered, so they sent Christ to Herod in the hopes of getting a Roman judgement passed on Him. Herod was too cagey, knowing what the tribunal was up to and sent Him back. They waited until morning and then took him to Pilate - the Roman Governor and the only one with the authority to pass the death sentence. Pilate interrogated Christ and pronounced Him innocent. Owing to the history of insurrections among the Jews, however, Pilate finally caved to the Jewish leadership and allowed Christ to be executed by crucifixion.

I'm really not sure how you get suicide out of any of that.

True. Sometimes harsh lessons are the best. Lacrimology is considered by many a sincere and optimum form of education, though I disagree with it´s tactics and it´s form; pain is a great healer and teacher too.

I would have been interested in what Ann Rand would have said on this topic. RW was one of the greatest talents I have ever witness and I am reminded of a quote "Hollywood is filled with serious actors and one comedian, and it really needs to be the other way around." Buster Keaton. We will all be less for the loss of such a talent for entertainment......RIP to the great one.

Another classic: his '09 interview with
    Charlie Rose....particularly his sketch as
Marlon Brando talking with Michael Jackson.
    Laffed 'til I cried!

I was watching the press conference today and there was a shout out from one of the reporters on whether or not the police would be confiscating his computers. The guy at the podium immediately said without answering that particular reporter," One last question." then took three more questions, but pointing to everyone but the one who wanted to know about the computers.
I don’t know, but if I could point to one horrible event that occurred recently that could suck the reason for living right out of you--it would be the images coming out of Iraq of beheaded children. I will admit. It’s got me down: the waste of American lives that went into securing Mosul in the first place, the destruction of one of the oldest cultures on the planet, and of course, the children. Absolutely horrific. I wonder if Mr. Williams was affected by these same recent events . He has been there...He would be more acutely affected than any of us. I’m just wondering...
That kid in Syria with his dad holding up a severed head? Evil. Just plain devoid of anything that resembles humanity. Anyway, I would like to know what Robin Williams was looking at last online.

Making people laugh is a wonderful gift, and he shared it with the world.

    Nobody owes ANYTHING to humanity.

And yet he gave us the gift of laughter anyway.

So sad, such a good person, had it all, but could not enjoy it. When I heard, I thought, as when Elvis died, what a waste, so much more to contribute. I like RW best when he had his manic under control, usually via a good director. I thought his serious roles were where he excelled, such depth. My favorites were "Dead Poets' Society" and "The Birdcage"- in which he showed such range. He was actually understated, compared to Nathan Lane in the latter, and came across sensitive. One wonders what Rx drugs he was on, as they have TV warnings on all the ads about, if you feel suicidal, call the doctor right away. Some of these Rx meds are as bad as street meds. I feel for his children, as he was openly involved with them and will miss him greatly.

Hey, my dad turned 81 this year, and has been a widower for 5 years. He went out on a date, two actually, with a woman who is in one of two bowling leagues he belongs to. He golfs every Monday spring-fall, (and has since 1968), and loves to dance. They went to a play in a park near where he lives, then dinner and dancing the next night.
Youthfulness has nothing to do with age. It's all in one's outlook on life.

But the legionnaire does not fear death!

(temperance organizations used to post a sign in French Foreign Legion barracks, "Alcohol is Deadly!"... the above was often inscribed on the wall below it).

"Our own Beloved President issued this statement about Williams' death: "

Oh? Which country do you live in? Cause the U.S. doesn't have a President.

"I no longer suffer depression and respect is slowly but surely being earned, from "mentally ill" to a "confrontative bastard" I went; much rather be considered the second than the first anyhow. "

    Really? Wanna trade?

This is why I don't believe in equality.

Think about how many innocent non-Moslems are being raped, tortured, killed, buried alive in Iraq in the time it takes to post and read the comments here.

Two weeks before the Murrah bombing, a woman and her daughter were doused in gasoline and set on fire. If I recall correctly, the mother died. Today, nobody but me even remembers that it happened. But every year we're all reminded of the dead in the Murrah bombing.

An "acid tongued" left-wing comedian in a fit of self-pity offs himself, after a lifetime of adulation, success and (at least relative) wealth, and he's eulogized by Obama and everyone else with a platform.

Meanwhile, those people in Iraq are dying in hunger, fear and pain... and nobody knows their names. All because Robin Williams once made milk squirt out of your noses.

Oh yeah, and what's Obama had to say about them? "We" underestimated ISIS.
