I suspect events on our sun and earth depend greatly on our position in the galaxy and what magnetic connections (the cosmic web) are present relative to that position. It is hard to imagine that those influences would be exactly the same each time around.
I suspect that everything changes over time and cycles come, cycles go and new one's evolve.

I also think that our orbit around the galaxy, traveling above and then below the galactic equator is what changes our, (and all the planets), orbit around the sun from an ecliptic to an almost circular orbit and back again. (think a 360 day year).
When the sun dives down or up, the planets have to keep up and surely will adjust over time.

You said 1200 years I don’t remember Vogt talking about that. He did speak of an 88 year period. Yes I have followed Doug’s work closely. No doubt the variables require a super computer to take all into consideration. The solar system circling the galaxy is likely another part of the long term “clock”.
