“The Post wrongfully targeted and bullied Nicholas because he was the white, Catholic student wearing a red ‘Make America Great Again’ souvenir cap on a school field trip to the Jan. 18 March for Life in Washington, D.C.,” the lawsuit claims.“

If they win, imagine the precedence this would set.

It's high time the left and its MSM arm is held accountable for the damage it sews.

AJA- yes, but are you not a biblical scholar?
Behold, the sower goes sowing. Some seeds fell on the road, and birds ate them. Others fell on rocks where with in-sufficient soil they quickly sprang up. But when the sun rose, they got scorched; and having no roots they withered away. Others fell among thorns which choked them out. Others fell on good soil and yielded a crop, some a hundredfold, some sixty, and some thirty.

This is the plaintiff‘s complaint from the law firm,

    http://www.hemmerlaw.com/blog/for-tru...

“The Post is a major American daily newspaper published in Washington, D.C. which is credited with inventing the term "McCarthyism" in an editorial cartoon published in 1950. Depicting buckets of tar, the cartoon made fun of then United States Senator Joseph McCarthy's "tarring" tactics of engaging in smear campaigns and character assassination against citizens whose political views made them targets of his accusations.
In a span of three (3) days in January of this year commencing on January 19, the Post engaged in a modern-day form of McCarthyism by competing with CNN and NBC, among others, to claim leadership of a mainstream and social media mob of bullies which attacked, vilified, and threatened Nicholas Sandmann (“Nicholas”), an innocent secondary school child.
The Post wrongfully targeted and bullied Nicholas because he was the white, Catholic student wearing a red “Make America Great Again” souvenir cap on a school field trip to the January 18 March for Life in Washington, D.C. when he was unexpectedly and suddenly confronted by Nathan Phillips (“Phillips”), a known Native American activist, who beat a drum and sang loudly within inches of his face (“the January 18 incident”).

I hope that kids discipline and restraint pays off big time. With the media ,Never has there been a bigger rush to judgement as today. It almost always results in egg on their faces but typically no money lost. Make them pay.

Me dino hopes that kid becomes a mega multi-millionaire at the crippling expense of Fake News and lib talk show blabbermouths.
The kid's lawyer will be filing more lawsuits against other parties in the weeks to come.

The consequences of promoting a cause with no concern for the damage done has been way too pcommon. I am for free speech but also one has to be responsible. I listened to the socialist Bernie S
Call Trump every name in the book and he like most of the libs never are asked to provide proof of those labels. It is one of the things that ticks me off about FOX. They give a mouthpiece to the resistance @nd never hold them accountable for the false claims they make. Well Bill Clinton is a pedophi le because he traveled on the Lolita Express to Epstein’s Island over 25 times.
Epstein is a convicted fedofile and many of his victims were also on the island. Some claim he preferred young males which is surprising because of his very public rapes of adult women.
Maybe for him it is any port in a storm and you can replace port with something else and storm as anything deviant.

The 1st amendment protects people from criminal prosecution by government. It does not make you immune from the civil consequences of your speech, if it constitutes slander or libel, or is an unwarranted form of harassment which endangers the victim. It's those careless forms of speech that the lawsuits are aimed at, and we will all benefit if even a few of them are successful. Not criticizing, just clarifying.

When I watched that scene at the Lincoln Memorial I studied that child's face. I thought him quite passive in the face of all that was going on around him. He kept that pleasant little smile on his face in spite of it all. I hope he is successful in life!

I did too, since I have grandchildren around that age. While I have no super-powers, I do have a pretty good eye for what's going on....this kid did a remarkable job, probably because he didn't know exactly WHAT to do, and figured remaining calm was the best idea, and boy was it ever!

The interview with the reporter a few days later showed just how young this guy is....he's practically just a baby, and to have all this thrust upon him is something I am sure he didn't anticipate. Not really sure if this had happened to me I would have done as well as he did.

In any case, I hope he is set for life, and that each and every person who jumped on to pummel him - especially that horrible Kathy Griffin - gets to pay, and pay and pay some more.

I watched it, too, and concluded that the kid was a provocateur, with that fixed little smile pasted on his face that was an in-your-face presence, a passive intrusion into the confrontation between the other two groups. Pure theater. I wondered who put him up to it. I would not consider him a child. He was practicing an ideology.

puzzlelady: That conclusion was wrong but understandable.
Of the two in the scene, one was the teenager so naturally you look at him rather than the weather-beaten oldster. The teenager is no trained actor, so the expression on his face seemed forced - he was trying not to react to the abuse he and the other boys were getting. The attempt at a smile showed great self control as well as maturity.

All this from me is from little knowledge and much imagination, but I still think he is a hero and I hope he gets a big share from a big settlement.

Attorney Derschowitz said the attorney representing the kid has made a huge mistake bringing in the political aspects of the case,, i.e., proving that the Post has a liberal bias and axe to grind about Trump. He said the kid should get a new attorney. We'll see.

I hope the kid wins he deserves to be vindicated. He is a good kid that showed restraint in not returning in kind the treatment he was receiving. If the WaPo does lose the suit it might teach them to be careful about assigning disparaging behavior to any who don't agree with their socialist agenda but I doubt if it will change their socialist nature.

I would love to see them win simply because it would force news outlets to do more fact-checking on stories before publishing them. I'm okay with them publishing their editorials and opinions according to their biases, but those in large part deal with public figures who have a higher standard for defamation. It is not okay when they try to intentionally ramrod private citizens - especially minors - just because they have a political beef with them.
