I had some ants in my kitchen. One time, just one time, I tried to ignore them and not think about them. That didn’t work.

They do become stronger if you ignore them, but one thing that I have realized from being in this forum is that I used to try to save the world. Even lately, I learned an important philosophical distinction between responsibility and duty. It is not my duty to save the world ... particularly if they aren't worth saving. I have always had a Dagny-type personality, and I am unlearning what I mislearned.

Oh, I know what you mean.

There are times when I go that route as well.

Then I realize that the "enemy" became worse and more destructive during the time I ignored them.

You don't think of them but they surely think of you.

The tactic of ignoring them doesn't work. It has been proven and it is being proven now.

They poison the environment in which we exist and make normal daily functions difficult to perform.

    It is not a solution.

I shuddered again as I was listening to her words. I saw this interview many years ago.

It sounds prophetic now. Her genius deducted with stunning accuracy where the path is going to lead.

Her words on the lack of intellectual leadership on the right is especially painful. We see the results daily at the abdication of Republicans of their responsibility and guilty conscious. Anyone found out what the right feels guilty about? Why do they succumb to the left at every corner and let evil prevail?

Right now they are mostly very loud and very aggressive. But, if they can scare 50% of voters into feeling that their ideology is the new and improved enlightenment, ignoring them will be very hard.

And with the radical preachings of postmodernism, reasonable philosophical arguments all too often fall hard on deaf feelings.

How to you debate a person programmed to metaphysically feel that just saying something like, “All lives matter”, or “Not everything is racist” is proof of your racism.

In the video, Rand explains the threat of what is being taught in American universities.

This creates an opportunity for universities like my own Florida Tech to be a "Patrick Henry University". I am doing my best to fulfill that.
