Is this putting your foot in your mouth news reporting?

I have heard the word "snowflake" used a good deal over the past 12 months or so. This thing (journalist?) is the living embodiment of a snowflake. It reminds me of something Rand wrote in AS near the end -- I think it is where Dagny and Galt are talking after taking a good look at the enemy -- and they are a bit flabbergasted when they realize that the thing they are fighting is just a gauzy little puff of nearly nothingness.

Their propaganda machine masters at deception and lies.

Maybe that’s why they want to throw these people into a wood chipper red hat first.

Well, the same Dean is playing ethics, claiming Covington is a "hate factory".

He has no problems with the colleges across the US, like Berkeley, where students are indoctrinated with hate by their professors, physically attacking speakers they disagree with, and banning anyone who is even remotely conservative.

Yeah, that is where the left is now. Wonder how long the brainwashed crowd supports them?

Does anyone get the impression that these "righteous leftist mobs" are the modern day reincarnations of the lynch mob of old, when the townspeople took justice in their own hands and grabbed the person they deemed guilty without proof, to hang him?

That's interesting. In my recent interactions with people who are in the mood for a political discussion I often find myself blurting out that I don't talk politics - but that I love to talk philosophy. But, Bethany...almost nobody knows how to do that anymore. This forum is about as good as you'll find in that regard. I occasionally point out the flawed premises that show up (ala Ayn Rand's "check your premises"). Some get it and some don't. Some topics are like religion.

First, welcome bethanyball!

Don't give up on the Gulch because you don't see a pure representation of Objectivist dialog or thought under one (or more) topic. Most of us here are fans of the Atlas Shrugged movies, which is why this site was originally formed, and are fans of Ayn Rand, but are mostly Objectivists "in the rough". I can only speak for myself here, but I consider myself more of an Objectivist in the making rather than the finished product. As a result I may offer my 2 cents in a non-objectivist way, but I'll be set straight if I really mess things up.

Others in the Gulch are extremely versed in Ayn Rand and Objectivism, but don't always chime in on all topics. Stay with it and offer your views. The very fact you asked the question you did is important and I like having you here because of it.
