The teacher found the red hat offensive and called the student who was standing up to authority, an a**hole.

I don’t think the teacher knew this was all being recorded

Ok I disagree here. I personally where a Trump 2020 Make Liberals cry again T shirt on a regular basis. So it is not the politics. I am a high school teacher and we have a policy that this teacher stated. No hats. This has nothing to do with the message on the hat. The teacher was wrong to call the kid an asshole but completely correct to remove the other students from the classroom.

I'm too old now (no longer in school), but this makes me want to wear my NRA jacket to this school and see if this asshole teacher calls me an "asshole." I don't think he'd like what I'd call him.

I'm just curious how that might have gone had the student been wearing a Hillary hat, or perhaps NRA, McDonald's, or Chick-fil-A. The teacher should be arrested for inciting and confirming it's okay to enter into mass hysteria over nothing. Completely Ignoring the hat would be a reaction that would have taught the student more common sense. There didn't seem to be any students that supported his argument. That wouldn't have happened in my days in school. I'd like to see what hat he wears the next day.

That teacher should be fired immediately. AND, that student is wasing his time going to any class taught by that teacher. He would learn more from YOUTube for sure.

Assuming the no hat rule is in fact a rule and is the teacher was enforcing it across the board, the teacher was within his rights. However...we all know that is not the case. Quite frankly I felt the teacher was too weak in dealing with the student, which makes me think the no hat rule is BS. If it had been me as the teacher, I would have told the kid to take his hat off and sent him to the principals office if he didn't. That whole business of moving the class to a different room was complete BS and ridiculously weak. The kid was an asshole and a jailhouse lawyer.....That being said.....If he has been a homo or some other BS whiney Minority. This escalation on his part would have worked and in fact been applauded.

I attended a very 'enlightened' high school. The majority of my teachers were men and it was post WWII. We were allowed to ask questions about just about everything and discussions were encouraged. Socialism, Communism, Racism...noting was Taboo! Most affluent school district in Texas. Great number of 200%'s were graduates.

He risked being offensive, and was offended.
Then the rest the high school class fled to a safe space.

Back in the old days you could be punished for wearing a hat that said, “The earth is round.”

The next step, Civil War, and it will have to be physical. It is too far gone, we've allowed it to get out of control. Only something like a Convention of States might be able to pull us out. Term limits might allow some people to start thinking for themselves instead of learning from all the rhetoric and political BS. Being old enough it really matters little to me, it's just sad.

It doesnt mean a lot to me either, as whatever happens will happen after I am no longer. The best we can hope for is some sort of diminution of federal power, and a return to states' rights, where state governments compete for residents. It already works to some extent. I moved FROM California to Nevada for lower taxes and controls. Now that the californians have invaded Nevada, I want to move to another state like wyoming or utah.

Good Luck on moving anywhere anymore. I moved from California in 1977 to get away from Jerry Brown. You see what they've done since. Now Washington State is controlled by freaks, and they are trying t take our freedoms away form us. I live East now, very conservative. Went back for visit this week to Seattle. Hardly recognize it. Gas is $1 higher there than here, and the restaurants hardly speak English anymore. So glad just to be out of that area the last three years, so I can die in peace when my time comes. The kids will just have to do what they have to do.

At least we told that idiot Inslee what we thought of his stupid initiative 1631 (carbon taxes for all)! Crash and burn, Inslee!!! I-1639 passed (more gun control), but nobody is going to tell me how to store my own property, on my own property! And, at age 59, I'm not going to worry (personally) about the new requirement that you have to be 21 or older to buy a firearm. There's lots of ways to get around that - like have your mom or dad buy you what you want. My brother gave me my first .22 rifle when I was 12, and my dad gave me my .30-30 Marlin (for deer hunting) when I was 14, and my Winchester M70 in .30-06 for elk hunting when I was 15. Just because I couldn't go out and buy these firearms myself didn't mean I couldn't get them.

There is something to be said for living around like minded people. I think it’s ok to feel more comfortable in those areas. It’s a human thing.

It used to be possible until the government mandates multi cultural living. It’s still possible with enough money

But that is the plan. To get everyone to think alike. Everywhere you go people will talk and act like robots using the same leftist programming.

But I want to live in a place populated by individualists where everyone’s human rights are respected. That’s getting harder to do now

I can tell you how good it felt at a trump rally here in vegas in 2016. People were visibly happy and filled with energy. There was no black, white or any other race. There was straight and gay people, but no one cared. It was a great experience. I can only imagine how great it would be to live in an area populated by people of objectivist persuasion
