Ocasio-Cortez: “I think that there's a lot of people more concerned about being precisely, factually, and semantically correct than about being morally right.“

Obama was the trial balloon that demonstrated a completely unqualified, charismatic minority could actually get elected. He failed to accomplish the objective of a (more) socialist state, because once off script, he was shown to lack the understanding of how to sell socialism.

AOC is an even longer stretch, but as a female Hispanic, the socialists figure she will eventually gain the skills that will catapult her into the presidency as the youngest ever, and first female. Scary, given her only world experience is as a bartender (and it shows). She's off to a shaky start, with too much exposure too early. However, the media will soon bury her stupidity and highlight her recitation of carefully scripted oratory. The question has to be if the socialists in the Democrat party will target a senatorial seat next for her, or tell her to stay put for a couple of reelections and then jump straight to the 2024 presidential contest.

Cortez is the mouthpiece for people like Obama and Soros. Never mind fact, she purposely or stupidly ignores them. She is following Alinksy, although likely not because she studied him.She is an agitator, just like Obama. How can one be morally correct, if one has not considered the traits she so easily dismissed. She is saying she cares nothing for facts, ie: global warming is a hoax, and just wants to go along with the radicals in her party. Cortez is an entitled little girl, seeking the limelight, with little knowledge of what she says. That makes her maybe more dangerous, as people listened to an equally irresponsible Marx back in his days in England. He ignored his responsibilities to feed his children, and she has never had any responsibilities other than playing cute with bar patrons.

    The woman is no joke.

Conservatives ignore her at their own peril.

She must be fought tooth and nail, otherwise her corrosive ideas will become real.

Yeah...I can't put my finger on it...But, I think she's some sort of operative. She couldn't be such a moron and get where she has gotten. It's like she's a living, 110 pound walking, breathing propaganda. I find her very interesting because of this. One of my coworkers made me a custom "Alexandria Ocasio Cortez for President" bumper sticker and I haven't laughed that hard in a while... I probably shouldn't laugh, come to think of it.

I have a different view on this idiots future. My bet is she will go after the wrong democrat that really does have some juice and the democrats will turn on her with venom. She is too young and too cute to be taken seriously and certainly not smart enough to keep her ignorance under control. The more face time she gets the more she will screw up.

"A billion here and a billion there and soon you are talking real money"
    ~1980s, some Hunt billionaire

    Rhetoric 101:
You have to excuse my mistakes as I am a beginner, but look at what Trump says!
    - from an imitation socialist who throws trillions around.

This quip is universally ascribed to Senator Everett Dirksen (1896–1969), but in 1938 the New York Times printed: “Well, now, about this new budget. It’s a billion here and a billion there, and by and by it begins to mount up into money.”

Why would anyone quote - or read a quote - from a brain-damaged liberal? Their purpose is total destruction and their engine is Hate.

We've known for quite some time that libs can't argue facts; they try and argue feelings and emotions. And I don't think I've ever heard a better paraphrase of "the ends justify the means" than this drivel from AOC.

yeah, but he is intelligent and obviously successful. Cortez is an idiot who just got elected in a wildly leftist district, and she has crazy ideas. The dems will push Beto O'Rourke in 2020. He is much more politically correct about the socialist ideas. Warren, Maxine Waters, and Cortez are just never going to make it past where they are- fortunately.

Intelligent? The ability to read and parrot inane slogans can be learned by monkeys as well.

I dont think Trump is particularly intellectually consistent when it comes to individual human rights. I voted for him because I thought he would slow down the march to socialism that the USA has been on for a long time- at least somewhat.

He has done that, but I will say that the collectivists will continue to stop anything he actually does, so all he can do is veto.

I will go down on the side that there is 0% of her getting elected in 2020. Most likely whichever democrat wins in 2020 (Beto O'Rourke) will be there until 2028. After that, if the quasi socialist programs are failing, she could spearhead the "we just didnt do socialism right, lets try a new approach for socialism".

AOC: "the three branches of government is the presidency, the House and the Senate"

And this woman graduated Cum Laude? From some affirmative action school in NY?

Ok, so she wouldn’t make a very good Jeopardy contestant nor pass an American citizen test. You pretty much just need to be popular breather to be an elite in congress.

"Ok, so she wouldn’t make a very good Jeopardy contestant nor pass an American citizen test. "

There is more to it than that, Carl.

Shortly after she was elected, she was interviewed (don't remember the interviewer's name, she was a woman) on TV.

Several questions were posed to her. One was "Do you know how the Federal Government works?"

She did not. She still doesn't.

What it means is that she has the slightest idea of what she is doing in the vacuum she found herself, which is not preventing her to come up with "revolutionary" ideas what the gov should do. Of course they are all garbage.

A Congressperson who has no idea about the gov which is her employer can't be for real.

We all should encourage her to be as radical as she can be. Same with Pocahontas and Maxine. Make them feel comfortable with their collectivism. The more leftist they are, the better for us

Anyone can get elected. I know that for a fact. It isn't difficult either. Sometimes votes need to be bought but hey, it's done all the time. I think a member to Congress should have to pass a test to see if they have a brain. CT Scan maybe?

I never thought I could agree with Whoopi Goldberg on anything. She said AOC needs to sit down and listen! I think this youngster having a tantrum needs to be ignored.

It's the same thing as Donald Trump, attention-seeking antics. Details of the facts don't matter, the thinking goes. As Scott Adams describes it, you say things that are wrong but directionally "correct" to make yourself a clown genius. By "correct", I mean furthers your goals, which could be bad like socialism or getting away with a crime.

The real danger is someone coming along who shows Trump's deplorables and socialists that they agree that someone else is responsible for their problems and government force, freed from the need to follow the letter of the law, could fix them.

A more likely scenario is political discourse becomes more like Trump, Ocasio-Cortez, and the ranting newsman in Network. That means, unfortunately, Ocasio-Cortez has a decent chance of becoming president.

You are completely wrong in this.

I gather you are an anti-Trumper, which everyone not using brains are.

Trump has a long term agenda and if you are caught up in the minutiae of details, you'll get lost.

Just like the left. Their irate reactions to anything the president does attest to the fact they are incapable of countering him.

Comparing the president to AOC is as ignorant as the left is.
