I think politics has degenerated into who is going to take what from who. Anything you work for is subject to being expropriated and given to a "poor waif as declared by the leftists". I just vote now to delay the inevitable a little longer. Probably 2020 will bring out and out socialism and much higher taxation on all levels.

This is EXACTLY what I've been saying. I'm watching people around me lose their minds over what politicians are doing, elections, etc.

Actually not a bad outcome at all. The Congress was and still will be useless with or without the republican majority. A bunch of RINOs are now packing their bags if they weren't already. Congress can't really do squat if the Senate and/or President disagrees. The best part is DJT has free rain to appoint judges all over the country and those are lasting appointments. Obama and Opra found out the magic wand is DJTs spine!

The con will continue as long as the 2 parties can keep you enslaved to hope in the lesser evil. If those voting for the lesser evil were finally awakened to how completely they have been conned by the "organized criminals" of the federal government, DC would go up in flames.

Well said, GaryL. I'm currently stuck in the Peoples Republic of NY as well. I also cast a cancelling vote if for no other reason than to let the looters know there still remains some opposition to their takeover.

Anyway, in the DC swamp it appears what remains of Free America held on to the Senate, but the Communists tipped the House.

I used to bitch by not voting or voting Libertarian, but have since voted for the least offensive Republican. Didn't help this time. I would have had to have about 30,000 ballots to make my vote count for a winner. So here in WI, a huge "it's the children's education in public schools" Dem who has plans for multi billion increases in property taxes to pay for all his new stuff that Walker had cut back on. Yes I voted to no effect but those in the know have assured me that I now can exorcise my first amendment right to bitch about the government.

Please don't give up on voting, Abaco. I believe its the only voluntary action that we as citizens of a democratic republic have a duty to do. Taxes, jury duty, et al are all mandatory. I know the frustration when your on the losing side of an issue, but its not like losing a ball game where there's always next year, I am proud to say that I have never missed an opportunity to vote in 60+ years. As an independent voter, I study the candidates and ballot propositions and try to ignore the usual raucus political BS. Then I vote my conscience. Sometimes I win-sometimes I lose, but I tried.

Recently we voted out a couple of city council members and a spend-thrift city manager. I stood up and harranged the council a every chance I got --even wrote letters to the editors of local papers. It worked!

You seem like Dominique Francon; believing that good values had no chance in the world, she did not want to "soil" herself even by fighting the evil. But as it was, she was mistaken. And what makes you think your vote won't count at all? Because there are so few of us? Numbers start with Number One, then there is Number Two, etc. If you are living in a near-Socialist state, there are other states in the country. Do not give way to despair. And you are not alone in the world, with no one to have the same values you do.

When I finally got to the front of the line, I asked a lady waving voters to a long table of ID checkers where was the line for the letter "H."

Lady explained to me they no longer look me up in a big book. It's all computerized now. She waved me over to the ID checker first space that opened up with more ladies seated behind li8ttle monitors along a long table. I even signed a computer screen spun around for me to write on.
I still had to mark a paper ballot fed into vote counting machine. Never had to worry about Florida hanging chads voting in Alabama

I went early before 11AM and there was a lot of cars but got into vote right away...when the Election volunteer crossed my name out, I asked if my old women had been there yet...she exclaimed: "OH Yea!
I found out later she gave them a hard time...how embassisking...

I have voted Libertarian since Goldwater, in 1964, but, this year was so important that I went STRAIGHT REPUBLICAN!

Me dino went to where I have voted in every election for years. I have always walked up to the front door before I saw any sort of line~even during presidential elections.
Today that line was out the door and wrapped a third of the way around the building. Later in my car I heard Hannity say a long line should be a good sign. Hope he's right.

People gladly surrender freedom (and privacy) if they think it makes them safer… especially if they think it also helps lower their mortgage payments or get more freebies. I used to bet that this is not the case in America. But if a socialist wins in Texas to be a senator, all bets are off.

I would agree with that. Today, it always seems to be voting to see whose ox will be gored. I feel like I am on the defensive all the time, given that I have oxen and the mob wants them
