We call it Christmas, we define it and celebrate it in different ways, it's an American Tradition.

In November and December combined we are reminded to be thankful and appreciative.
It is my wish to share both of these self introspective thoughts to everyone here at the gulch.
Hope your time during Christmas is happy and full of Friends and Family.

Thanks for the laughs, the knowledge shared and the memories.

I don’t DO Christmas as such. It’s not the religious celebration for me. But I imagibe how I feel towards people who respect my human rights- genuine benevolent feelings.

I don't either but I do take the opportunity to take stock of myself and enjoy time with others. The past 8 years, that time with others, are the people at Hospice because I always end up working during the holidays.

Enjoy your Day with family and friends, Term.

I would think when a person gets close to death that they are more. “Real” and honest. I have only had one friend in that situation, who died from pancreatic cancer. Took only 6 months from diagnosis

    ON NEW YEAR'S RESOLUTIONS
"What then is the philosophic meaning of New Year’s resolutions? Every resolution you make on this day implies that you are in control of your self, that you are not a victim fated by circumstance, controlled by stars, owned by luck, but that you are an individual who can make choices to change your life. You can learn statistics, ask for that promotion, fight your shyness, search for that marriage partner. Your life is in your own hands." -- Scott McConnell at https://americanpolicy.org/2002/12/23...

" As David Kelley has written , “Speaking the language of values instead of the language of duty, ‘want-to’ instead of ‘have-to,’ is a daily reminder that we live by choice, with both the freedom and the responsibility that that entails.” If you choose to honor values like health or productiveness because of the benefits they bring to your life, and if you keep those values in mind on a daily basis, you are far more likely to stick to your self-improvement program." -- Ed Hudgins at https://atlassociety.org/commentary/c...

"To make a New Year’s resolution is also to recognize the undeniable reality that rewarding careers and romances do not just happen automatically–that to get what we want in our lives, we must consciously choose and achieve the right goals. We must be goal-directed." -- Alex Epstein at https://www.capitalismmagazine.com/20...
