I think a far better ceremony would be to have carloads of the workers and engineers go by instead of these dancers. Of course ceremonies like this are "for the boys"

It's the European version of the Taggart tunnel, with the opening ceremonies apparently reverting to the dark ages after modern technology made the tunnel possible. My conclusion is that the people in the video "didn't build" it, but they are stealing the credit away from those who did build it.

The Gotthard Base Tunnel is a railway tunnel through the Alps in Switzerland. It opened on 1 June 2016, and full service began on 11 December 2016. With a route length of 57.09 km, it is the world's longest and deepest railway tunnel and the first flat, low-level route through the Alps

Didn't think I could watch the entire thing after the first few minutes then nostalgia kicked in and I couldn't turn away. My son (when he was young) and I used to watch this Saturday science fiction show that always found the worst written plots, poorest actors and dumbest costumes and effects. We would make fun of them, try to guess what they might say or do next, then when it got quite bad we would keep watching to find out if it could possible get worse, then it would and we would groan and laugh and watch to the end to see if we could take it.
If I were a businessman who had built this tunnel and this was promoted to me as the way to open the tunnel I would have fired the person behind it, had a quick ribbon cutting ceremony and been the first person to ride through to admire my work and be certain everything was working according to plan.
The cost of this absurd extravaganza must have been incredible but when you are spending other peoples money . . . . . what the Hell!
If I were an entertainer and had been approached to be part of this I would have turned in my union card.
Incredibly bad but thanks for the show and the nostalgic return to Saturday mornings.

These guys are originals. A likeness: Mr Blandings Builds His Dream House...to...The Money Pit. The Magnificent Seven...to...The Seven Samurai. I've seen very few remakes that impress. I think if these, at the time, young men had put their talents to stage show storytelling they would have rivaled Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber. Popular is not the pinnacle of talent. Hmmmm...there's one to go in The Objectivist's Handbook.
And to address your last sentence:
Mountain; We measure our lives by tens and by twenty years only. Teach us the ways of a million year mind; what a million year heart could be hoping.

AhAh.....The video makes a lot more sense now. In the title it said

    "at CERN.( Large Hadron Collider.)"

I assumed that is what the ridiculous thing was for, some sort of upgrade to the super-collider. A transport tunnel at least offers the possibility of doing something for poor old Joe six-pack! Doubtful though it may be.

Nothing to do with a science project. For low level train passage to help get high speed freight across the mountains without the danger of trucking.
Whether it can pay for itself is another matter.

Interesting! Never heard this version before. Definitely not for people who want things right away. Patience is needed to listen and learn from this song.

I have pretty much abandoned Hollywood. When I hear an actor has gone after Trump (like Robert DiNro), I just write them off and dont even watch the good movies they made in the past. There are getting to be fewer and fewer movies I want to go see either in the theaters or reruns on TV. I dont want to do anything to feed these actors and studios.

“You didn’t build that.” has to be one of the most devilish statements I’ve ever heard. It implies so much. It “justifies” so much. It idealogical meaning is related to so many problems going on in the world.

Having for sanity's sake skipped though this atrocious malevolent mess, me his Immense Eminence Dino Jurassic Allosaurus III Esquire, art critic at large, herewith proclaims that the derogatory snub, "artsy fartsy," become recognized as a fully-fledged genre of low art, such as pseudo-abstract works that are canvases that merely had paint thrown at it before being hung in prestigious museums for rich snotheads to extend their thumbs and peer through monocles at.
Me dino watched the start of this monstrous masterpiece the longest, wondering if I may care to plug in the link to Pink Floyd's "We don't need no education, we don't need no thought control" kids marching around like zombies.
Then I saw idiots pretending to hang in chains, that deprogressing to moppy tunnel dusting critter costumes worn my worse idiots.
Saw men and women dancing in their underwear to perhaps symbolize men and women dancing in their underwear.
All this stupid stuff was viewed by dressed up fat cats pretending to be sophisticated.
Oh, yeah, there was the goat version of Satan himself being revered, leaving me dino to wonder what satanic coven the choreographer belonged to..
Guess what Satan had come to say about the tunnel was "You didn't build that."

I was just thinking about this ritual the other day. I forgot what brought it up in my thoughts... but I find it ironic you brought it up! (not bad, just ironic in my head). I've started looking for more ritualistic signs around me. I live in Europe, so there's a lot of it. And I felt very concerned when the arch of Ba'al was erected during Kavannah hearings.... seemed very ritualistic as well. There is definitely some weird stuff going down, and definitely more frequent lately...

WHAT THE HECK!!! The only positive thing here is that all these parasite heads of state are force to watch this garbage. My daughters boyfriend actually works on this thing in the summers. He can't actually tell me what it is supposed to actually do to help old joe six-pack.....remember him....the guy that friggin paid for this giant science project! He has a doctorate in physics and was surprised that anyone actually expected a return on investment from this. He gave me the old bullshit...."knowledge itself is worthy of the pursuit" routine. Well that is all well and good if you aren't the one paying for it.

These people are sick. This is who Trump is fighting against. Their symbolism will be their downfall. Notice the red string bracelets worn by all of the Hollywood freaks. One of the main texts of the Kabbalah, the Zohar, is thousands of years old. Its roots are in Judaism, but Kabbalah is not a religion. According to Rabbi Yehuda Berg, author of "The Red String Book: The Power of Protection," Kabbalists believe that negative energies can enter people's lives through the "evil eye," which is when someone looks at you with envy and jealousy. Kabbalists' goal is to rid their lives of, protect themselves from and reject negative energy from the evil eye by wearing the bracelet 24 hours a day, seven days a week. To be effective, the string must be wool, dyed red and worn on the left wrist. Additionally, it must be cut from a longer string than was wrapped around the tomb of Rachel, the matriarch of the Bible .

The occult elite enjoys putting on full display its agenda and philosophy symbolic, dramatic displays which are reminiscent of dramas re-enacted in secret society rituals. Furthermore, there is no better way to showcase sheer power than putting the “Illuminati stamp of approval” on massive mega-projects such as the Olympics or major constructions.

These same whip holders are scared to death of President Donald J Trump.
