    Significant data.
Normal fluctuations yet ignored by the global warming folks.
Very minor changes in the Sun have a tremendous impact on the Earth. This is common sense and every student of introductory Science should know this. Yet . . .

Funny the high in the north is statiscally 5 orders of magnitude higher than the norm, and is causing winter conditions across most of Canada, and will push south next week. That is a significant departure from the normal pattern and is a sign of the next 20 years standard. Yet the Gorean Science club also ignores all that as well.

Did you see on observers where that little melted section of the north pole existed during the last ice age?...funny thing...solid ice surrounds it and no one can get there by boat.

People just want simple answers, Global Warming provided it, and allowed 20 years of manipulation. Lots of new science showing we do not have full knowledge.

I am not a scientist, but I say the earth mass is so large, with a core that is thousands of degrees in temperature that it would take a really massive amount of heat to change the global temperature- most likely far more than we could ever provideby burning fossil fuels. Anyway, when the government touts something, its always for its own hidden agenda, so I discount it.

Actually, not global temperature but global surface temperature which is a little easier to measure.
Whether the concept of global average surface temperature is meaningful can be disputed.
There are many notorious examples of government agencies manipulating data.

I have concluded that at least for myself, nothing in their prediction will affect me in ways I cannot overcome by living in an appropriate place. If the temperature at the surface in all areas was going to go up by 20 degrees in 2019, perhaps I would be concerned.

Climate has changed many times over the course of the earth;s existence, and we just have to adapt.

Well, the midwest is in for a grand solar minimum lesson this week, and Canada has already broken records this year for cold, so the GW hoax is now wearing thin on the people who were supposed to support it.....

Maybe I am a useless deplorable BUT
                    1) I have observed that the most important factor in keeping my own pool warm is the suns energy by far
2). The earths temperatur has fluctuated a lot in past times before we burned a lot of fossil fuels
3). Control of energy is a not to hidden agenda of collectivists
                    4) what happens in 2050 and beyond is past my lifetime, so why would I give up my life NOW to perhaps change something THEN
                    5) although it not very efficient to burn fixed resources, it’s still more efficient than the renewable sources of energy right now

I do wonder about people who live in area of great natural disasters, and whether they would stay there if the government did not continually bail them out. Deplorable me would move to a more stable place as soon as I could. We are a pretty mobile society and people should take advantage of that. Some of the beach dwellers in Indonesia might have to plan their escape from tsunamis for years

People that do stupid things and are continuously
bailed out tend to continue to do stupid things.

I suppose the producers are the stupid ones for financing the bailouts !!

Remember term, producers are not doing it voluntarily, maybe we are stupid for allowing the creature who does take our resources and give them away, but the system weakness is democracy, which encourages a group to form that will serve it's own self interests at the expense of others, and thrive. Which is an interesting concept, since it means freedom will always get overwhelmed by selfish self interests and the power to impose welfare states.

My skepticism of government controlled science originated years ago when I worked for NASA. I was manager of a project to measure the transport rate of CFC's from the surface to the upper atmosphere. We used high altitude aircraft and balloons with sensors specifically designed to collect and measure halogen free radicals and compounds. CFC catalysis of ozone is well understood and is easily demonstrated in the laboratory. It was our task to measure CFC and other halogen transport rates and to demonstrate that these compounds were directly responsible for ozone depletion. Please note that I said "demonstrate that" not "determine if". Taking such factors as Jeans atmospheric escape of selected molecular species into account we constructed models of transport flux that would be necessary for CFC catalysis to be the dominant mechanism in the ozone depletion phenomenon. The problem was that we never measured more than five percent of the molecular flux that would be necessary to sustain catalysis. It is possible that our models were incorrect and they were certainly incomplete but the results were so completely at variance with the intended outcome of the study that our findings were embargoed indefinitely and funding for our project was abruptly canceled. I retired from NASA shortly after this event and went into private industry.

My point is that there are political forces that understand how to use science to their advantage and many scientists, my self included, were and are sufficiently naive that we become unwitting accomplices to their agendas.

AGW or ACC (anthropogenic climate change if you wish) is a horrendously complex phenomenon and may well portend a planet wide catastrophe. But as one of our politicians observed "never let a disaster go to waste". Nothing fuels a drive for political power more than a clear and present danger and a promise to deal with it. AGW can be presented as such a danger and this fact is not lost on those who see an opportunity to turn it to political advantage.

All I am saying is be careful what you wish for.

Wish is not the case here, Prof, in that the Grand Solar Minimimun is historical fact, the results of it are well documented and it is not a question. The Global Warming thing has been a boondoogle since it's inception, just one possibility of a bunch of assumptions, theories and cobbled together hypothesis. Yet it was swooped on by Al Gore and the rest of the deep state as a means of control and siphoning off money. We almost got toally hosed by Obabam with the Paris accord, with all its BS exceptions for everyone but us. Instead of preparing for mass starvation and climate disasters such as the flooding and snow and ice and wind and all that that comes with the GSM, they are still trying to sell GW. Now, after the GSM? Who knows, but as long as politicians control science and funding, results will always be what THEY want and need. Thanks for the good example of State Sci.

The Maunder minimum is headed for a dip that we haven't seen since the 1700's. One of our conclusions was that the dominant factor in the ozone depletion regeneration cycle was solar activity. It was suggested, somewhat in jest, that if we had the technology to modify the Sun's behavior it would probably not be a good idea.

Yes the GSM is going to be very bad news for everyone, and is not getting any attention because all the deep state does is make it a "conspiracy theory" and the sheeple say "oh, sure". That is why I post on FB some of the FACTS that come up, so maybe a few sheeple will figure it out.Messing with the Sun is an insane idea for the immature science we have.

The Thermosphere Climate Index shows lower highs and lower lows since 1990 and lower lows since the late 1970s. I lived through some of those lows in North Dakota. Weeks of 40 below zero Fahrenheit with winds to match. All GW proponents need to be shipped to Churchill, Manitoba for the next 20 years!!!
