The problem with the word selfish is exactly that it carries with it the traditional moral connotation. A smattering of definitions:

"(of a person, action, or motive) Lacking consideration for others; concerned chiefly with one's own personal profit or pleasure."

"devoted to or caring only for oneself; concerned primarily with one's own interests, benefits, welfare, etc., regardless of others."

"concerned excessively or exclusively with oneself : seeking or concentrating on one's own advantage, pleasure, or well-being without regard for others"

Claunch, in this article, I think, confuses the philsophical concept of self and selfishness with the Christian moral definition of selfishness.

It is an old arguement and I saw nothing new in this piece.

Labels like Objectivist, Libertarion, Liberal etc. are tricky things. They tend to generalize and categorize for convenience of arguement, but have little empirical use when applied to an individual.
