We all know of the evil of "global warming", after all, hasn't the MSM been trying to program us to give all our money away (or have it stolen) to save the whales, uh, earth, well, someone. Maybe Al "end of the world and my 300 million boondoggle" Gore should have gone diving in the Elbe and looked at the "Hunger Stones" from the Maunder Minimum, a repeat of which is already in progress So, tell the next Millennial who cry's to you to go read the "Hunger Stones" and watch them head for the video store...those were some bad times then, and will be again...

      If the GSM is correct, no amount of government is going tp prevent a large drop in population, considering the dependence on specific areas for food production and the interconnections such as soy beans to beef, so taking care of your own is becoming increasingly more important.

        the hook-up between the beef, chicken, and produce industries and the politicians is corrupt...a small farm goes bankrupt in this country every 30 minutes...it takes 10 times as much water to bring beef or chicken to market than a plant...plant-based diets are healthy diets without the cancer and heart disease of beef and chicken diets...govt healthcare costs are bankrupting this country...i.e., my brother has CLL...blood cancer...he is on medicare...he takes a chemo pill every day..each pill is $6K...taxpayers pay 80% of that...oncologist told him he will have to take a pill every day for the rest of his life...yet he will not give up his unhealthy eating to reverse the CLL...the taxpayers are forced to pay for his unhealthy choices as you will pay for the millions lined up behind him who will make the oncologist a wealthy man...

          I can't say definitively that one thing or another is truth, as I have seen arguments for both. While it is true a complex organism is more resource intensive, man has raised and hunted meat animals for a long, long time. I have seen some arguments intelligence increased in the need to get food, raise it, take care of it (including all forms of farming), but the amino acids in the mixed diet aided evolution. Balance is everything. The Pharma industry wants us sick, and I wonder sometimes if it is not being driven by all the players for money.

    From the dates it seems the stones have appeared in the mid-19th and early 20th centuries, but the article makes no mention of those, which indicate that low water is not always related to the larger climate, only to local conditions. (Thanks for posting, nick.;^)

      I don't know Freedom, they looked like they were marks of water level, look at the picture though and there are dried grass at base, I opened it up on their twitter feed. Looking at it, there are indeed numbers, but I am now not so sure they are not faked or concocted. Need to try to find something to corroborate.

        Well, this article makes it a little clearer, and kinds takes the whole thing into the trash, in that they have a dam now and it changes the water levels too, and this is now a "tourist attraction", although it is also listed as one of the oldest "hydrological monuments" in Europe. So, misleading, and maybe written to draw attention away from the snow in parts of the world early this year, the fact the ice sheet is increasing, and a lot of other records for snow, rain and storms, all part of the GSM.

    So there have been "past climatic shifts" dating back to the 1600s.
    What a curious concept!
    Makes me dino think of climates dinosaurs and woolly mammoths had to adpt to.
    Not to mention the original Americans, who were once able to brrrr! cross the Bering Strait while ancestors of the horse traveled in the opposite direction to evade a North American Pleistocene extinction.
    Already knowing horse ancestors migrated from North America into Asia and beyond, me dino got the Pleistocene horse details above because I just looked it up.
    Do you want to know the stated cause of that North American extinction? Climate change!

      Every solar minimum (12 years or so) has an impact, and is seen in all the data charts. The grand Solar Minimum are every 200-300 years and are usually a lot more severe, last one was in a700's and the Maunder Minimum was before that, and lots of people died, but there's no money in starving people so the Global Warming crowd are ignoring it. But right now there are crops in the Midwest rotting because of the "unusual" heavy rains.

          1700's, sorry. Lasted 1645 to 1715, We are already at the minimum, but a lot of the evil "conspiracy theorists" (which is a name now reserved for any one who dares to think and offer anything that is not approved by the State Science people) believe we are in it's early stages, and have a decent enough track record of predicitng the effects which are being seen every day. Here the Daily Mail actually produced a decent discussion of it:

            Conspiracy theorists are included with people who think outside the box such as Aristotle, Socrates, Leonardo Da Vinci, Issac Newton, Edison, Einstein, Bell, Jules Verne, H.G. Wells and, oh, yeah, Ayn Rand, to name a few.

    The stones prove that drought is not caused by industrialization, but the earth's cycles itself.Why does humanity have this guilt complex where everything is the fault of mankind. The ice age happened without the help of cave dwelling humanity and actually the novels "The Clan of The Cave Bear" and "The Mammoth Hunters" gives a pretty good picture of those days based on facts discovered.

      I am not sure it is humanity with a guilt complex, but a group seeking it as an excuse to exercise control over the rest. Everything for global warming was a very expensive joke, and readily endorsed by the cabal and their MSM. Very few facts were actually considered settled science a whole lot of hocus pocus and "scientists say".
