The democrats (actually the Dixiecrate) have never really be all the democratic. It was for years "My way of the Highway". The problem with the Democrat party is they actually believed the crap they were spuing and transformed the nation Democrat party into the junk pile it is today.
They created the inner city ghettos to replace the old plantations and substituted the city mayors for the southern plantation owner. The overall effect was the same. People chained to a way of life that was and remains abhorant and soul killing to those caught in its tentacles.
