What You May Not Know About A Scumbag Named Karl Marx

Oh, that wonderful Karl Marx! So many American socialists look up him to as author of The Communist Manifesto that inspired Lenin to kill so many fellow Russians for being in the way of his climb to dictatorial power.
As a young man Marx was a drunkard and literally a man without a country because nobody wanted the troublemaker around.
Once Mark had to stay at home a while because his wife pawned the only pants he had.
Marx died broke. Only 11 people showed up at his funeral.
In the comments section of the linked article, me dino read that Marx bought guns for a revolution that never happened instead of food and medicine for a sick child who later died, that "the guy was absolute scum" and that so may who look up to his oh so famous butt know so very little about him.
After reading that, me dino looked up Karl Marx elsewhere and noted that only three of his seven offspring survived their childhood to reach adulthood.
Me dino knows the mortality rate for kids was higher back then but I do believe four out of seven kids taking a dirt nap is pushing it a bit much.

I saw this article on my FEE subscription, and agree it’s very interesting.

I studied Marx intently in university, as I had already read Rand and more importantly Mises before even starting my studies. I knew he was the primary enemy of rational, Capitalist Economics.

Most of the facts were interesting but not surprising. I knew he was poor, unrecognized etc.

The one huge fact that was new to me was how “Marxism” had totally lapsed into obscurity after Marx’s death, until the radical, violent butcher Lenin revived it and used it as his “ideological” platform for the violent Bolshevik Revolution.

It seems we could have dodged the Marxist bullet, had there been no Lenin.

But there was...and catastrophe followed throughout the 20th century.

Millions died due to what Marx wrote and what Lenin, Marx and their successors did.and not only in Russia.

I’m in total agreement with that statement. Marxism is the most evil, bloody and destructive ideology, without exaggeration, in the history of Man. Not to mention totally irrational.

My only point was, IF the FEE article is accurate, and I read it correctly, Marx and his “ideas” might have died with him, in deserved obscurity, has Lenin not appeared and resurrected them for his own bloody, revolutionary purposes.

What did he think about himself?: In 1862, Marx wrote a letter to Engels saying, “A lousy life like this is not worth living.” No more comments.

And so it came to pass that Karl Marx passed on to escape his life not worth living, leaving behind writings Lenin read to render countless more lives not worth living.
Some of Marx's legacy got killed attempting to escape a life not worth living.
Marx';s legacy also includes socialist professors this day indoctrinating our American youth at all kinds of grade levels.
Power to the people! Yeah, right. Something useful idiots are encouraged to believe.
Hey, and don't forget Fake News. That and the current state of the Jackass Party (not to overlook some greedy and/or cowardly helpful RINOs are a part of Marx's legacy too
Hi, Antifa. Go break heads to give us lives not worth living.

A thought on most anything that is happening now....

    “The thing that hath been,
    Is that which shall be,
And the thing that is done,
Is that which shall be done:
And there is no new thing
    under the sun.”

    Some old poetry from Ecclesiastes.

I guess that any society that provides services to its members is Socialist relative to the service rendered. The slippery slope to non-productive Socialism is a matter of degree. Ayn Rand probably saw this slope and its common result when she proposed that the individual has to be more important than the collective; that freedom of self is more important than slavery of all.

It is interesting to note that August Willich, who conspired to kill Mr. Marx due to his lack of liberalism in projecting communist pablum, was a General in the Union Army during the civil war.
The seeds of communism spread quickly to our backyard.

Up until now, me dino thought communism came solely from the writings of Karl Marx.
I looked up August Willich and read enough to start wondering where communism came from if not solely from Karl Marx.
      https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/August_...
      So I looked up communism.
      https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Communism
Please click on the latter link and scroll down to "Early Communism."
The very top line reads "The term "communism" was first coined and defined in its early definition by French philosopher and writer, Victor d'Hupay in his 1777 book Prpjet de communaute philosophe."
Thank you, BCRinFremont for the clues to lead
me dino to such enlightening knowledge.
It's late and I've things to do tomorrow. I'll read more about this later. Maybe even write a new post about it here in The Gulch and give you due credit. .

I don't claim to know much about Karl Marx. In fact, I have never read his works firsthand. I have read a lot of collectivist garbage that was going around in American culture, but not the works he wrote himself. (I have been meaning to start studying Kant eventually, but never got through studying Aristotle. And then maybe, eventually I would study Marx. Just as well to know your enemy).. But I have read that Marx's mother once said, "If Karl had written less about capital and made more of it, it would have been better."

I have not read the writings of Marx or of Hitler either.
I have read enough snippets of the Koran to become Islamophobic.
I have read all of Saul Alinsky's Rules For Radicals, though. You know, all that stuff we watch the left pull with the assistance of Fake News.
Uh, why all in a sudden am I thinking of a supreme court nominee? And of three others before him?
Not to mention Herman Cain's uppity bid for the presidency during The Anointed One's first run..

My guess is the Cortez girl knows less about Marx, except to spout she is a socialist, than the average citizen. Hillary however, wrote a 92 page thesis glorfying Alinsky, and Marxism. Obama and the carbon entity called his wife, both attended an Alinsky training institute to learn the finers points of chaos to Marxism.

      Thanks for enlightening me dino.
I did not know The Evil Hag wrote anything like that, though the Candidate Cackles statement, "My dream is open borders," scared me dino into adding a carbine with two 30 round clips to my gun collection.
I imagined open borders causing streets all over America to turn into total hell.
Today me dino found out exactly why Commie Cackles would want open borders.
Chaos is fertilizer for growing a Communist movement.

Marx was so easy to refute that it was embarrassing, which is why you see Lenin in the tomb rather than Marx. Chico Marx makes more sense than him and Groucho is the leader they should admire.

Marx was a lazy scumbag. He did not like to owrk, could not be bothered to support his family. He releid on righ friends to keep his family alive,. Even so, some of the children starved, and he would not even work to keep food in the house. He always feld someone should fork over money to him. All he wanted to do was stand on his soapbox in England and tell other people how to live. Hillary and Obama's hero.

"...four out of seven kids taking a dirt nap..."

Practice for what came later in the Workers Paradise. He mooched off of Friedrich Engels who supported him using his wealthy family's money.

Karl Marx applied to move to Texas in 1843. That would have worked out quite well. Why? Let's consider what happened to people in Texas. In particular, what was the usual cause of violent death in the Old West? Getting shot? (All those gun battles in Western movies.)

No. Horses! Getting tossed off your horse or kicked or trampled was pretty common. I cannot imagine that Karl would have been a successful horseman. Those of us who have worked with horses have been in the circumstance of seeing someone getting killed or injured, of at least having a hoof fly all to close to our skulls.

It is rather pleasant to imagine an alternate history in which Karl became a Texas rancher, whether successfully ($$$) or unsuccessfully (whomp!).

There is a tv commercial . The parents are talking in the kitchen and they discover their adult son has moved back home for an unspecified period of time. He yells up the stairs to his parents that "in many cultures men often live at home with the parents till age forty" . That came to my mind for some reason after reading of Karl the mooch Marx
    And his typical liberal behavior.

Since Karl changed his name (to who knows?) to dodge people he owed money to, maybe he was also called Conway the mooch Wimpy~for he'll gladly pay you Tuesday for a hamburger today.
