MacCoins have several drawbacks:
1. The are Backed by a non Government Agency
3. They can be discontinued at any time,
3. They could be easy to counterfeit,
4. Competing coins could devalue them

Wait - that is the same problem the US Dollar faces. Maybe they would be good afterall.

Buy many and buy often. They will start out as a medium of exchange, and when they stop minting them they will be a store of value. Their store/value ratio will be sufficiently high. Unfortunately, when they become an international unit of exchange, Mc Donald's will flood the market and it will collapse.

      Why not. If I lived in the Gulch and couldn't have fries, I might have to rethink where I'm living. Fries are my number one favorite food.

        Me dino doesn't know Hannah's politics but it's likely a heavenly match made in Hollywood.
        They and all their merkids were probably all crying, "Not my president!" after Cackles failed "to break the glass ceiling" and instead screamed, "I'm melting! I'm melting!"

How bout something really unique- a receipt for a given amount of gold that you buy and place it in a bank in exchange for a receipt. The gold is yours not to be lent out. The paper receipt can be traded around but it always has a value in terms of a quantity of goldl
