This is a refreshing rant. ("Shhhhh I'm listening to reason.")

And I thank you for talking about, and thanks for the welcome. I've pretty much been in the same situations, try to talk sense, be labeled as an isolationist, a prepper, whatever. It is frustrating, but I do enjoy it. A little spark of understanding in someone you might not have expected it from makes me feel great. By the way, FSP=Free State Project. Not trying to push their agenda here, but basically an idea of getting like minded libertarian types to move to the same area to attempt to live more free. Interesting enough, to me, but haven't been too involved yet. Again, thanks for the welcome. This is great.

    No problem.

I mention from time to time (quite often) that my wife and I are fleeing CT for WY.
That is because of Free State Wyoming.

When people ask "Why not New Hampshire?", I tell them that I don't believe they can win against the Communist tide in New England.

    What is FSP?
Here's what I've learned about talking to others about the current state of crap that is going on right now...and AS's message (warning). Very few even want to talk about it and even fewer of them want to research or learn or even read AS. I DO NOT GET THIS ABOUT PEOPLE AT ALL! They'd rather be in the dark??? So....I don't waste my time, oxygen, or thoughts on most of them. They may not know they are contributing to the problem, but I do. Another thing...people are, for some screw ball reason, afraid to speak their mind...what if they offend someone, (GASP!). I've gotten to the point of speaking freely and often...if someone is offended then they're offend, so the hell what, get over it and be a grown up and engage me in a conversation....and if you do engage me in a conversation...PLEASE have a point. And I'll be honest...outside of the gulch...in the real world...I haven't found anyone (outside of my own family) who can carry on a rational conversation about any of it. Sigh. So...with that all splayed out there, welcome to the Gulch!!! :) (P.S. I'M "offended" by what's happening in this country and I'm damn well going to talk about it.)

Oh, I agree completely. Among the main reason for my interest in sites like this, the FSP, and others is to become more educated. I want to learn more and more effective ways of talking with others to get these points across. I think, in general, that a great number of Americans feel this way, and just need the right words to show them its o.k. I feel I learn more about people and arguments through discussion, and it can only help our cause.

Yes...and there aren't enough of us....or at least there aren't enough of us who speak up boldly. We're so conditioned to be sensitive to other's feelings we trample our own in the process. SPEAK-YOUR-MIND.

It seems so many of us feel the same way, where do we go from here? When our representatives are changing political parties after elections, when they succumb to compromise for the 'good of the most'? I love my country, I want it back. Does anyone else feel this lost and afraid?

??? Yeah right. "Fully entrenched" or fully informed? Mr. Levin is an Independent person with his own thoughts. He isn't a "bought" person, like Al Gorezzera, nor has he been discredited due to his own foolish actions like Bill O'Reilly. Furthermore, he is one of the few remaining REAL MEN who can articulate the Conservative viewpoint, just like Pres. Reagan and William Buckley. I'm not fooled.
