That cop is a puddinghead. How can an Australian woman commit a breach of the peace by walking around in her own country?
Cop would have made more sense by warning her that she may be assaulted if not gang-raped in a very bad neighborhood.
Such has been happening in self-destructing European nations..
IMO, my so-called Islamophobia has just been rationally reinforced.
Barrack Hussein Obama's dubbed "religion of peace" can remain in the Muslims' own war-torn sh--holes.

First, she's not Australian. She's a Canadian visitor sticking her nose where it doesn't belong.
The Australian government could have revoked her visa and she's damn lucky they didn't send her straight back to Canada.
This doesn't mean her opinions are wrong, but why is she doing this in Australia?
Would it not be more rational to protest in Canada, or does she already know that will fail?
Or maybe she's just trying to write off her trip to Australia as a business expense?

She is doing it in Australia and other countries to try, in her mind, to bring awareness to the hypocrisy of the Western liberal press and Western liberal political parties that preach that "everyone loves one another - peace and community love is in everyone's hearts. All is beautiful and wonderful. DON'T mention anything negative."
By doing so, she hopes to curtail such balderdash back in Canada, etc.

Okay, I stand corrected. Uh, but did the cop even know she was Canadian?
For another thing, how is she sticking her nose where it does not belong?
Are not American reporters in foreign countries?
Are not foreign reporters in the USA?

The cop knew because her trip to Australia was all over the left-biased Australian news, just as it was when she visited the UK, and when she visits the US. Her visa application was initially rejected until she asked for assistance from some Aussie politicians and Auckland NZ refused to let her speak in city venues. Her purpose is not to be a reporter of the news but to make the news and encourage more people to have her views. She does the same things that we find so offensive in American biased left-leaning "reporters". The cops undoubtedly realized she would be interested in creating a scene and they wanted to prevent unnecessary injuries (and publicity that is embarrassing to the existing regime.) They are police; it isn't their job to encourage free speech, but to prevent it. Unsurprisingly, the liberal government doesn't want to hear from someone who disagrees with their policies.
I wish the American "journalists" would mind their business, too, meaning leave your biases in your apartment and report the news without bias.
One of her views is that the west should stick to western culture because it is a success, and I generally agree.
She appears to believe that she needs to tell Australians how they should run their country, and to tell the UK how to run their country.
I think Australia and the UK are western "democracies" who have a high level of literacy and free speech. They can access the internet just as we can with little censorship.
Let them succeed or fail without interference from busy bodied attention seekers from foreign countries. However, that doesn't mean they should refuse to allow a visitor to speak just because their views are different. That's censorship.

            ffa- yeah, nah.
No Aus visa prohibits walking along a street carrying cameras wherein there is a mosque.

The Aus. gov. minister (secretary) for immigration and border protection, Peter Dutton, has
spoken about giving refugee status to white S.African farmers as they are being murdered by
gangs with tacit government support. According to antifa (=fascist, new left) the use of the
word 'white' makes him a racist along with Lauren Southern who is of the same view.

Having actually had to deal with Australian immigration as a foreigner I have some insight. Unless you want to hire a lawyer and spend a fortune defending your rights, you'd better do what they tell you to do (assuming you are Caucasian from a western country and can't claim racism.) The law as written says one thing but they can use their "judgement" and decide to make your life hell and put you immediately on a plane to your home country. They can arbitrarily refuse to approve your tourist visa even if you have done nothing except spending money (earned and saved in your home country) in Australia legally. (I would probably still be in Australia if this was not the case.)
Police are police and do what their bosses tell them. If the boss said she was a troublemaker then they use their "judgement" and apply it accordingly. Had she not acted as the officer advised she would have needed a lawyer to maintain her visa (unless she had some friends with "pull".)

I actually agree with what the officer did in this particular case. Purity of laws are nice to discuss but the cop was trying to save her from what could have been a bad incident.
She was a foreigner - not the same as a citizen of the town trying to walk down that street.

You think it would have been different if she had been a citizen?
Either way, you think it's OK to threaten people with arrest for the potential actions of OTHERS?

Reporters and wannabe reporters (the latter a new trend) stick their noses into things That';s what they do. .
I should know. I was a reporter for 7 years during the Seventies in a rural county.
One lady once called me "the local instigator." At least she was laughing when she said it.
Had my life threatened several times. After a close call, me then a very healthy dino fairly fresh out of the Marines began to conceal carry an H&K .380 and keep a larger .45 in my glove compartment. Fortunately, I never had to use them.

I can't conclude that sharia law exists from this video. But Australians have been much less active in defending their liberty than Americans. They didn't fight for their independence; they were handed half-independence. Now they couldn't win it or defend it if they wanted to.
It appears to me that the regime in Sydney (and the national government in Canberra) does not want the people of Australia to know what is going on in the areas where Muslim immigrants have settled with the approval of the Australian government. The police realize just how the muslim people in the area will react to the interviewer's pointed questions and comments, and so does the interviewer. On the one hand the police want to keep the peace and protect the property in the area. That is why the police exist. At the same time it appears they are acting to cover up the Australian government 's lie that muslim immigrants are peaceful, civilized people who will assimilate into Australian culture. An attack on such an outspoken interviewer would expose this much more than a few words of condemnation by an interviewer with an obvious bias.
Australian culture is dying. In another generation it will not exist. Multiculturalism will have killed it and buried it. As one who actually experienced it over 30 years ago when it was still magnificent, I mourn its demise.

I believe it's dying as well and I mourn it's loss as well. If I ever get the pleasure of visiting Australia, I will do my best to avoid the metropolitan areas and visit the less populated ones.
I wasn't saying that sharia law exists throughout Australia. Just that it appears to have taken root in this specific area and is being protected by the local police through their misplaced desire of public security over freedom.

I meant no criticism of your post whatsoever, dark_star. Australia is still a wonderful place to visit for the sights and for a lot of genuinely friendly people. I have great "mates" in Queensland, NSW, and SA who have given me friendship and shelter, and would do so again. (None of them understand my views on firearms or the value of our 2nd amendment, and we have frequent discussions on politics.) If I was at liberty to do so I'd catch a flight tonight.
If you do go in their summer, I recommend a visit to the state of Tasmania. Its cooler and that's especially welcome after getting sunburned on the mainland beaches.

Ah, we are all so lucky to be dead in the next hundred or so years. We won't have to experience any of it as it spreads across all those countries that still have a blind eye to precisely what that culture tells us, how they plan to spread it all over the earth. It's just a fact of life. Wars, in the past, have been started on much less.

Perhaps we need some reporters to go into South Chicago with a mike and camera, perhaps they could help figure out what is going wrong in that culture, why they so like to kill each other.

Be sure to teach a lot of youngsters the importance of firearms for defense of self and of liberty, and train them to be safe marksmen. There will come a day when their liberty and survival of the republican form of government (not the party) in America will depend on it.

Ever hear the details of how Hitler rolled into France so easily? Beforehand he sent some of his people in to bribe (and possibly threaten) the local officials (law enforcement, etc). I believe that is what has happened in these places. That, at least, explains this...

I am starting a new religion, called the Curmudgeonites. We will accept any race, but generally will cater to the old, cranky, self-made, hard-working. We will sit on our porches and throw rocks at anyone that offends us, particularly kids and dogs in our yards. We hope to have a significant following, so we can start intimidating people.
We will happily endorse attractive women and men wearing as little as they chose, walking through our neighborhoods, good beer, wine and other alcohol, MJ and drugs, if you can control yourself.

Seems like the only thing good about Australia is it's location in dealing with China and that side of the Pacific. Sure isn't that Fosters, worse than Budweiser, crap.

Let's take a wider look at the OZ situation. PC garbage has been running amok for 40 years down under. The main reason is white guilt. The first legislation by the newly established government after independence was the White Australia Policy. If you were white you were welcome , if not , stay out! This was the law of the land for over 100 years.
Couple that with the disastrous Aboriginal policies and you have one of the most racist countries on the planet.Yes I know it Native Australian now, thanks.
Now mix in the PC idiots trying to compensate for this discrimination and mix in some good leftist ends justify the means logic and you have a gun free soft dictatorship / police state tactics and bingo, welcome to now.
The government regulates EVERYTHING down the the price of a glass of beer and the glass itself.
If a pub were t sell you a beer not in a approved , stamped glass they would instantly lose there licence.
Retail trading hours are regulated, wages are set buy the government, overtime , even 10 m is forbidden without advance notice, like two weeks.
No aspect of life is free and if you don't like it you better keep below the radar , no bill of rights, no 1st or god forbid 2nd amendment, no nuttin.

Social utopia run amok, the mob is not the cause of all this crap the Government is..

We all know that Islam is a collectivist dictatorship hiding as a religion. It's about time that we started treating it as a repressive dictatorship and not a religion. Japan has the right idea, Islam is not allowed there, in practice or anything else. It should be an object lesson to those extreme left wing churches; in the USA. Be a religion or be a political organization, but you can't be both.

There are similar areas in London and Paris (remember the riots a decade ago?). Even London judges are beginning to grant some leniency to Sharia courts despite their extra-judicial and extra-legal origins.

Brexit is the least of Great Britains issues.

From the vid- No evidence of sharia law.
Australia is a bit behind the policing policies of Sweden, UK and EU.
No jailings (yet) such as of Tommy Robinson in UK.
No evidence of the grooming gangs for which the UK is notorious, see Rotherham, Rochdale, etc.
There is hyper-sensitivity by police to anything critical of 'the religion of peace'.
Also note the presence of groups such as of antifa (not anti-fascist but violent fascists).
freedomforall's comments are good. While I also do not share/understand the second amendment view,
Australia does seriously need constitutional freedom of speech protection.

There is little in the news but here are some related blog items:
    1. Police (Victoria) billed the Canadian internet star $68,000 for protecting her Melbourne audience from violent Leftists determined to shut down her peaceful and lawful speaking event.
Police (NSW) try to stop her from walking lawfully and peacefully past the Lakemba mosque.

    2. 'If you cause an imminent breach of the peace I may have to take lawful action.' Police.
' . confronting a 23 year old female because you find that easier than confronting the thugs who may cause trouble.' Comment.

    3. After the talk, Lauren Southern went outside to talk to protesters,
She asks, 'Why do you say I am a racist?' No answer but the chanting of 'Racist dog'.
'Australia used to pick from the front of the pack for the team but now the ranks are filled
with those who can’t even play the game , we had a good club there for a while though'
    Comment on current migration policy.

I think her "sharia law" point was that if people can't even walk through the area and the police aren't enforcing western law since they prevented her from walking down the street, then thus that particular area is cordoned off and subject to the local law.

It's not about actual sharia law, it's about the beginnings of sharia doctrines by ignoring existing laws and blaming the potential victim for any potential crime.

I'd like to read your links but they don't work... Looks like they are too long and I can't even use both lines to access them....
