The new state legislation will:
Limit ammunition clips to seven. It’s now 10* (3 bullets....THREE bullets!!! THIS is going to what exactly??)
Force gun owners to renew their licenses every five years* (This is like having to register your car every year. WHY?? Once doesn't register it enough?)
Stiffen penalties for using a gun in the commission of a crime* (Isn't that already stiff? If not, why the hell not??)
Stiffen penalties for bringing a gun on school property* (Cuz that'll change a lunatic's mind, a stiffer penalty. This for someone who's just going to off himself as soon as he's met with force.)
New restrictions on the assault weapons already owned by New Yorkers (Hmmmm and THERE it is people!)
With NO mention of meeting a lunatic with force sooner than 20 minutes. NONE. This is a waste of cyber ink and space.

Arrggghh! I hate it when people say or refer to "gun violence". Guns aren't violent! PEOPLE ARE. For the hard-headed here's an example: you have two people in front of you, one is a law-abiding person who's armed with a gun (gasp!) and the other person is a convicted felon for murder and he's "armed" with a 6 inch screwdriver. Who's the bigger threat? Who most likely will want to do harm to you?

The point is both the gun and the screwdriver are INANIMATE OBJECTS. Neither one is more dangerous than the other.

I'm so glad to read the NY legislature is doing everything they can to empower criminality. Hopefully, the people who have not-so-common sense will leave NY. Just like those in the '50's who fled from East Germany.
