Being an old guy (I know you have a few years on me) I get a bit color confused at times. In my youth red was always the color of the commie bad guys and blue was free America. Somehow they got switched in an Orwellian way and I'm guessing it was no accident. Any of our young people who run across a reference to 'The Red Scare", et al, is likely to get the wrong idea, which now muddles the historical record. Anyway, I do hope the nowadays crimson tide becomes a reality.

I think you are correct, Solver. The twisting and struggling apparent when the talking heads on tv cover the news...never seen anything quite like it. The screaming and yelling by the likes of Waters. The image of Harvey in handcuffs. (I'm not speaking in complete sentences here...I can't get all the words out...haha!)

But the left considers it a crime against their future voters...

The Democrats are already panicking, due to a developing split in the party. The base has shifted far to the left, and one of their most senior House representative just got blown out in a primary by a 28 year old neophyte who proudly advertised her socialist positions. This is bad news for Democrats trying to survive in red states, as the DNC is going to be forced to embrace the most radical positions in the life of the party, to include "free" medical care and college, government guaranteed jobs for everyone, open borders and universal amnesty for illegal immigrants, severe gun control, limitations on free speech and the right to practice religion, higher taxes on everyone, and others I've heard from the radical side. That will be a guaranteed eviction from office for all red state Dems, unless they seek to switch party (why Senator Manchin, WV, hasn't jumped already is beyond me), and even endanger some in purple states.

If the Democrat party swings too far to radicalism and a wish for a totalitarian state, I hope we see the growth of the Libertarian party such that the Republicans begin to see them as the real loyal opposition. If that happens, the Democrats will go the way of the Whig party and wither away to the irrelevance of the Democratic Socialists or Greens.
