MSM should provide news and the information behind the news events. It is the people who should mold society based on the facts and their individual experiences within their society.
Societal change is from within (for the most part, excepting defeat and occupation in war).
While the MSM is part of society, it is not the arbiter of what changes should be made but the commentator od reporter of societal change.

No, the media should be the forum that argues the points. That represents the various views. So people can see why a Libertarian likes property rights above all else, and why liberals BELIEVE that govt should be their puppet to pick on those they don't like...

It should INFORM US (Debate Coming Thursday), or report to us (key points of said debate), or tell us what date we need to change our party affiliation in NY, so (say the daughter of a specific candidate) could remember (or KNOW) to change her party affiliation...

But unfortunately, all that is gone. And it is missed!
