The Challenge of Dating in DC for Trump supporters

"Faced with open antagonism, Trump’s millennials over the past year and a half have quietly settled on the margins: a stretch of Washington that spans from the Wharf—a shiny new development three blocks south of the National Mall—southeast along the Waterfront and into Navy Yard, on the banks of the Anacostia River. It’s a string of neighborhoods that peer out over the water, separated from most of the city by an interstate, and facing away from official Washington. It’s a bubble within the Washington bubble: Here, young Trump staffers mix largely with each other and enjoy the view from their rooftop pools, where they can feel far away from the District’s locals and the rest of its political class.

It’s not all a tale of discomfort. Many shrug off the drawbacks by pointing out that at least they’re not in New York or back on their college campuses, where their politics were even less welcome. And they’re learning one lesson that every new wave of operators learns: In Washington—even in Trump’s Washington—as long as you have power, you can manage to feel popular somewhere."

Trumpsters in DC should form a Trumpster Dating network/club/service of some kind.
Then there's the cities on the Left Coast, the northeast and lib-infiltrated Florida.
Oops, me dino overlooks the blue splotch called Birmingham in my red state Alabama.

Yes, and according to what is going on against Trumpsters these past couple of days, they will need their own restaurants. Maxine Waters wants them harassed wherever they go.

How does the recent supreme court decision affect restaurants serving those with different political philosophies? I think it was too narrow a decision to apply, so I think they must serve Trump supporters regardless of their political bias.
However, Maxine would starve if she waited for me to make her dinner.

I can't tell you what my reaction might (probably) be if I ever met Maxine. I would be arrested for making threats against a democrat if I told you. However, if I made the same threat against the president it would probably be okay. Is this the type of country we want to live in, where we might have to choose where to eat by our political party affiliation? Perhaps restaurants could just designate a "D" or an "R" at the entrance. Doesn't anyone remember how hard it was to get the "No Blacks" signs down? Hopefully all the Maxineation of this country will soon turn on them. Its actually unfortunate that more republicans don't retaliate. Apparently gays and other "classes" of people in this country have more rights than republicans. I find our representatives extremely disgusting, but realize it's the people they represent that actually elect and re elect them. Nothing short of a recall for some them would be acceptable and perhaps set an example. With the doubling down on the "D" side I can every day more imagine it could actually come to civil war, they just can't get their way.

I think store owners should advertise their hatred for trump and put out signs indicating that so we won’t waste time going there. Time for an organization of truly tolerant peope. I would patronize those businessed

I second that, store owners should advertise. It's getting to the period in time that everyone needs to take a stand. This rhetoric and illegal nonsense against our laws and our Constitution is getting way out of control. In reality it doesn't matter to me directly, I'm not going to be here that much more, but it's not what I fought for when I put on a uniform a long time ago. I would think those that don't take a stand are the real majority, perhaps they need to come out of the closet, so to speak. I might even ask the next time we go out to a restaurant, or to our local market, the barber shop, perhaps even the bar and grill. What would be the consensus if everyone had to vote? Would we find we're just a bunch of psycho emotional brainless animals (PEBA's), or might we actually find some true humanity and reason amongst us? California may soon direct the direction this country might follow, and perhaps actually open some eyes. I can hardly wait to see how the people there vote, they're beginning to see the results of their previous decisions. I believe the Trump presidency is actually a result of people opening their eyes and taking a stand. That Sarah Huckabee incident really got to me, broke my heart, but the Maxine Waters speech condoning and trying to make it grow actually made me furious.

ACtually, Maxine Waters did a good thing for us as a country. She separated out the real intentions of the left for everyone to see- they are intolerant, violent, and downright controlling and nasty people. I would hope businesses would announce their political views like this place did, so I know in advance where they are at and why I need not patronize them.

I would like if all hillary supporters wore armbands too, so I know in advance who to ignore

The more of this nastiness towards Trump, the better it is for the country. It exposes the left. In the quietude of the voting booth, people can feel this nastiness and distrust it, like happened with Hillary

I agree the nastiness from the left helps our side more than theirs, but when will it end? There are Never-Trumpers that will never come around, no matter what. They just hate Trump more than they love this country. It makes no sense, mostly because those that follow the 'leaders' can't even tell you what they hate other than quoting the pure and simple rhetoric, things they heard from animals like Maxine Waters spews from her ugly mouth. What they are doing now is hurting our image around the world and giving the dictators more fodder for their personal cause. Kim Jong Un doesn't have to put up with any of this crap under his method of rule. If it does not change after the next election cycle we need to stay much more vigilant in showing our disrespect for these tactics. I pray every day for a complete sweep during the next election cycle. Prayer can actually work, it got Trump elected even though (fill in the blank). If it goes the left way, I don't even want to live here anymore. It's the only way they might understand we are (I am) tired of it.

I've seemed to notice there are more people, both known and unknown, joining into the "discussion". Both sides seem to be doubling down on their beliefs. If it continues, I can actually see a lot of people getting hurt. the responsibility for that in my mind will be Maxine Waters who was only quietly inspired by Obama. I"ll be long gone before we see the total impact his presidency has put on this country. Trump won't be able to undo all of it, he won't even realize all of it.

Well said actually. I say they don’t hate trump himself- they hate that he speaks openly against the swamp and what the leftists hold dear. They have no arguments ; just viciousness and hatred portrayed very well by Maxine waters. She really stands as the spiritual leader of the left, although she is way too open about it to be embraced as their leader

Trump and the rest of the “deplorables” have been correctly identified as the enemy. There are currently too many of us to engage in open warfare, but in the end it would be their goal to subjugate us or eliminate us

I thought trump could slow things down , as he is doing. I never thought he could actually reverse the slide to the left in 4 years. The swamp is too deep and wide.

I just read a report that the restaurant owner is a cousin of Meryl Streep (according to VA state congressman Ben Cline.)
So this is likely a planned event intended to distract Huckabee from her tasks in the administration. This will win Huckabee (and Trump) more friends and lose none.

I don't think that the hatred of a political figure has ever been as extreme as those hating Trump. Daily offenses against people personally have been reported with Maxine Waters stirring things up like the immoral fool she is. Those protesting Trump are the same idiots who crucified Jesus, (if he existed at all). They believe in a cause, but not one out of a hundred could tell you why.

Well, to drag out a very old joke and give it some relevance to the current situation:

I live in Santa Fe, New Mexico, and we Trump supporters regularly have our meetings in a phone booth. :-)

Problem is, there are no phone booths nor Trump supporters here, except me, who shall remain nameless.

Given that, Santa Fe is a nice place to visit unless your philosophy precludes doing business with those who wish to enslave you.

I dont want to fund the enslavers. But , only a small part goes to the enslavers (part of the profits). The government gets the lion share of what we spend, given the sales taxes, income taxes we paid to get the money to pay for the goods, and all the taxes the businesses have to pay. The best solution is to just cut back on epenses through efficiencies, and not listening to the constant advertising barrage. What we dont spend in general, we dont have to pay taxes on.

Just as well. I wouldn't want to father a child that is going to be raised by Them.

A harder problem is that once I do find a date who is pro-Trump, where do I take her? Not many places in DC.

The communists (Democrats) are like a pack of hyenas nipping at the heals of what's left of Free America and could "smell" the victim about to fall. Then a surge of energy "trumped" their efforts and circumvented the final kill and sent the pack into a snarling frenzy. They are now a pack of virtually mindless crazed beasts gearing up to terrorize the countryside. It will start slow at first...
