Exactly, schools teach that because they live it and believe it, knowing nothing else. My biggest problem with the education system, you should have to have had another career before you can be a teacher, maybe retired military.

As you know, public education has been teaching the irrational virtues of socialism, and the false failings of the free markets for more than 30 years. Higher education institutes are filled with socialists who continue that counter-productive brainwashing, and purposely assassinate the bedrock principles of individual liberty, family, and free markets. When the reputed sages of the education industry hide the truth and no one teaches rational thinking, the result is 2 generations who are deluded into believing that socialist government is the solution to the problems purposely created by socialist government.

Unfortunately, most big cities (and the bedroom communities around them, like Doraville) are dominated by people who have little understanding of the process that creates the high standard of living they have inherited. They will likely continue to squander it and to enslave those who produce it until the producers learn the lesson that it took so long for Hank and Dagny to learn. Well, freedomforall, it seems these little snippets indicate the people of Doraville, like the people of Venezuela, got what they voted (wished) for. It would be interesting to visit this again in 5 or 10 years to see if they vote for more of the same to fix the problems they are having or opt for something different.

But read the article and you will get sick at the crap they pulled, and the fact the woman was fined $100 and sentenced to 6 months Criminal Probation for cracks in her driveway. This is worse than any sitcom....

Looks like a case of those (leftists) who run the city being more concerned with physical appearance than the rights of people who have a lifestyle that is different from their own.

I guess I was also wondering why the woman didn't say "sue me" and take it to court. I am sure the "cracked driveway" ordinance would be proven illegal, and if no ordinance, then no charges. Someone needs to call their bluff.

Interesting dip into Medieval politics, Dino, but I would say that their draconian looting system is rather illegal and is clearly extortional. If you do not pay up you are subject to civil penalties and/or criminal liability. For a pile of wood or cracked driveway (all on personal property) I would say it is clearly a very poorly camouflaged ripoff.
