A very good article. As the article summarizes, education is where Americans can and must stand their ground. If we lose education, which we have to a large degree, we will likely lose the founding principles of America in a generation.

The author of the article is from a Minnesota org and a graduate from Hillsdale College .
Hillsdale gets a modest donation from DOB a few times a year, in fact I just put the first bumper sticker on my 9 year old Chev Malibu. It came from Hillsdale and says "I ❤️ The Constitution".

Think I'll start donating to Hillsdale, since they hit on me from time to time. If you saw how much snail mail and email hits on me dino, you'd understand.
Note to self~Don't forget to scratch out the phone number on the check. If you knew how many phone calls--aw, never mind.

Yes my wife was home today and asked me if we always get this many sales calls. Half a dozen or more daily.

Having a caller ID, I used to ignore them. Now if I'm not busy, sleepy or whatever I'll answer to tell them to take me off their call list.
I'm polite. I'll say "Nothing personal but--"and add "Have a nice day" before pressing the hang up.button.
A month ago one young lady tried to stop me by saying, "Well, why would you want us to take you--" CLICK!
          Bwahaha! Me dino so mean.

Caller ID is after I run to the ring. So interrupted regardless but plenty worse things to get my undies in a bunch about. They are like mosquitos
Irritating but they have been called the state bird. The state bird is really a loon and silly folks are call a bit looney . I happen to remember the Yellowhammer from way down south in Dixie.
Funny and cool how capitalism embraces state birds or nicknames for identity. I back , in high school worked for Northstar Ice.

The call of the loon was completely absent from my growing up Compass Lake experiences within the Panhandle of Florida. (All that added to benefit other readers).
There a visiting Connecticut cousin once asked me about a squawking caw, imaginig an African kinda bird from a Tarzan movie, since lots of Compass Lake still kinda looked like that when the Beatles were all the rage during the Sixties. That o so exotic bird was but hust some stupid crow.
As for the Minnesota state bird, I didn't like them by a cottage at Queen Lake, Massachusetts. A bunch of them attacked me in a weird swarming ball.
Hungry mosquitoes don't bunch up and pack animal hunt like that in Florida

I think the attraction to socialism is purely emotional. Any actual analysis shows it’s never worked-ever. So it can’t be fought successfully on intellectual basis

Socialism and reason do not mix well at all.

The idealogy of socialism can make you feel good and morally superior, unless you actually use man’s unique ability of reason to actually think about it.

Actually, I find it crazy that people will not just admit it doesnt work. No matter how it might make one feel, the feeling wont last long as you sit in a cold, dark tent in winter.

Meanwhile, the fearless leader at the top will live in the lap of luxury.
In all the photos I've seen of North Korea, Kim Jong-un is the only fat person I've seen.
Some peasants are so down and out that they eat dirt, according to that dude who escaped on crutches and appeared with Trump recently.
Months ago I read somewhere that Kim prefers really expensive cigarettes that sells for about $75 a pack.

Read Bonhoeffer's article on the stupidity that led to the rise of Hitler. Socialists use catch phrases and slogans as though they are using intellectual arguments about what should be done with the force of government to remove all responsibilities from them and put them on someone else. When it is pointed out to them that every socialist leader murdered millions of their own people to accomplish their goals the look I get from them is what I would expect if I were trying to explain Quantum Mechanics to a cat.
If the socialists would allow those who do not want to participate in their system the freedom to live objectively it would become obvious which system provides the best opportunities to live a fulfilled life, but they would still complain. It is only when socialists are able to employ the violence of the state that their system can manage to survive the scrutiny of reality and maintain a system of governing that is destructive of man's mind and ability to survive and advance in all fields that are man's alone. There is no other animal capable of engineering, science, medical advances or the ability to produce food on a scale that allows wasteful investments of time on what will never work.

It sounds rosy and emotionally satisfying until your the one on the receiving end of the violence, then the protest becomes; "But I'm on your side! Why do you want to kill me?"

Fredrich Hayek, the genius economist (my opinion), analyzed the capitalism/socialism cycle something like this: Productive people desire to produce and be rewarded for their production. Thus, capitalism begins and those who produce goods that others desire begin to accumulate other goods in payment. As time goes by, the most astute producers begin to get rich and the least astute are relatively poorer, even though the poor in a capitalist system are better off than the poor in other systems. Wealthy producers begin to feel concerned (guilty?) about those who have been less successful and begin the process, usually with the help of politics, to distribute some of their wealth to the “poor”. Over several generations, especially in democratic countries, the people receiving these distributions from the wealthy become a political block that votes for more distribution. A tipping point is reached wherein a majority will vote resources to itself at the expense of the minority producer. From this point on, production by producers will drop off, consumption by non-producers increase, etc. etc. I wonder if Hayek and Ayn Rand ever met?

This article shows the greatness of Hillsdale College. It clearly describes the elements of our society that have contributed to the demise of our nation. Only a radical departure from the current direction of our society will rescue our republic from its destruction by the Socialist Left Liberal members of our society. One more Presidency like the Obama's and our nation will become the evil empire. It is too bad that the average citizen is not aware of our nations history and the sacrifices made by so many citizens to create and maintain our Founding principles. I don't see how we can peacefully restore our nation to a nation based upon the Constitution. Perhaps I have missed that point.

Their are many Marxist loving professors that are currently preaching to students that ultimately only a violent overthrow of the system will get them what they want. Like politicians they seemingly have no legal responsibility for what they create.

The current generation of pie-in-the-sky millenials, and many other socialism advocates, is the direct result of planned implementation of such through goals and processes put forth by Mr. Marx...especially the hijacking of the education system and the destruction of any system of moral ethic that requires self review and humility.

"Those who fail to learn the lessons of history are doomed to repeat it." Winston Churchill. I think it was Lenin that called them "Useful Idiots"

Yeah, those clueless for history useful idiots probably think they we Americans have the good ole' Yankee ingenuity to make Bolshevik Bernie's socialism work.
Trouble is, socialism has as much in common with Yankee ingenuity as a rotting lemon does to a freshly baked apple pie.

Even though my son isn't in the millennial age group (a little older) but his beliefs are in the Socialist camp. During this past election, we had arguments on Facebook which I unfriended him. He believed in Bernie Sanders vision that completely mystified me. I'm pretty far right in my political beliefs and my wife is an independent politically speaking. So, I'm still stumped how our son went in the opposite direction. I think that these young people are rebelling against parents who have a conservative pov. There are some who have been influenced by socialist teachers in colleges. Has Social Media changed our culture in that direction too?

Friends have an influence too and whether or not that is due to feeling any peer pressure.
Vietnam and the youth rebellion of the 60s turned me into a lib. Getting drafted made me all the more a lib, though I got through it and made corporal within my two years as a slave.
I got better after voting for Jimmy Carter. That was because of Jimmy Carter being Jimmy Carter. I voted for Ronald Reagan instead of Mr. Malaise for a second time.
I have one of four brothers who remained a lib.
When I told him my grown son and I had been to a pistol range, he looked at me as if I had morphed into a tentacled space alien. Another brother later told me Bro Lib did not understand how I could have fun shooting a gun.
Due to a sports event, my bros were all together when Trump won and crying snowflakes were being shown on TV. Lib Bro was looking all kinds of downcast while the rest of us were struggling to restrain ourselves.
It about killed old dino to be polite. At one point I was gritting my teeth for wanting to scream with laughter. Think that was when I saw snowflakes screaming "Not my president!" while wearing T-shirts that said the same thing.
The Socialist-Obamanation-In-Chief won twice but I never acted like that. Well, to be fair, me dino only had "My fiends, my friends, my friends, my friends McCain" and Mitt the Twit to vote for and not some entitled sacred cow libs were all so giddy to see coronated as The Cackling Queen

Well thought out, very good. Yes, schools are a big problem, or rather what goes on inside them. They include collectivist thinking, valueless society, no right or wrong, anti-capitalism and entitlement. Unfortunately, no one seems to be doing anything in to reverste it. It has geen getting every worse since Clinton, and thus Columbine. I am not sure broken homes cannot be overcome, if teachers were not teaching victimhood, and allowed students to be individuals instead of pack animals.Hittory is soemthing corrupted since the Ford Fdn, proclaimed years ago that history should be altered to make students more able to assimilate into communism. Cecill Rhodes and his Rhodes Scholarships were designed to produce teachers and professors who were willing to rewrite history into a NWO agenda, and prepare students to accept communism. This writer truly has it right, and Rhinos should admit theri part in this advancement of socialism.

Well, he makes the very common mistake (among conservatives) of blaming acceptance of Socialism on the decline of Christianity. Christianity promotes altruism, which naturally leads to Socialism, Communism, and other collectivist ideologies, such as Fascism.

Allosaurus Latin for "different lizard" (despite being very impressed with Ayn Rand) is stating that Christians who are also conservatives (like me) would take polite exception to that.
I'm not speaking for a hypocrite Catholic like Nutty Nancy, who thinks aborting a fetus isn't murdering an unborn baby and that nice Karl Marx really didn't mean it when he stated that Christianity is the "opiate of the people."
Have to agree many Christians who are King Barry and Evil Hag voting libs already embrace the notion that the opiate called socialism is a very good thing.
Trump-voting Christians do not fit into that mold.
Some of those send me dino donation requests so Bibles may be smuggled into Red China.
