When me dino was a kid during the 50s, a penalty~not the penalty~for kidnapping was the death sentence.
Compare me dino to savage animal if you wish, but I can' think of a more appropriate mandatory sentence for child trafficking.

There are bona fide kidnappings in the world, esp when you count custody disputes and deeply troubled young people caught up with crime, but "trafficking" is mostly a boggy man like santanic cults were in the 80s. The world and the US are much safer than in the past, so much so that we look to bizarre conspiracy stories. It seems like a few rare cases of criminals snatching healthy kids off the street make us scared to let children play and grow to be adults.
