A group representing German trade interests said the US decision to withdraw from the deal will hit German companies and urged the EU to protect their interests. Trade between Germany and Iran reached 3.4 billion euros ($4 billion) last year, according to BGA, another foreign trade association.”

I have to cringe at the slow train wreck that is the EU. Between their socialist governments, their self-destructive immigration policies, their insanely high tax rates and their globalism, I'm simply waiting for the whole herd of lemmings to drop off into the sea. The unfortunate thing is that many others are going to get caught up in the carnage. I applaud Trump for trying to extricate us from what I see as an Islamic war coming up where it is the Western World values vs Sharia.

Overlaid of the speed of history's movement, the EU's self destruction is pretty rapid.Within my lifetime, it went from an attempt to emulate the USA and started prospering (see Germany) and evolved into the bankrupt, defeated, starving Russia as its model. Why? Because of activist socialists. Which goes to prove that people can be cajoled and talk into anything, even contradicting the evidence of their senses. Remember that old Joke? A woman opens her bedroom door and there in bed, naked is her husband and the attractive widow who lives next door, The man says, "Who you goin' to believe, me or your lyin' eyes?"

Or...Unicameral Conscious Life versus Pagan Bicameral non-conscious life.

Better yet, to include the entire picture: Those that have a Conscience, versus, Those that have not.

Whoa, there. That's too many big words in one sentence! ;)

Ultimately, every single conflict in this world comes down to culture. Those who have a culture and believe in it will defend it and proselytize it. Those who either don't have a cohesive culture or don't believe in it, will always lose. Europe used to believe very heavily in its culture - no matter what one may say about the culture itself. During that period, it was willing to go to war to defend that culture - and succeeded. There was more than 1000 years of that in Europe. This past century, everything has changed. Starting in the 1930's, a toxic, culturally-elitist mentality took over in several nations and led to WW II. Amidst the destruction and reconstruction of nearly every nation in Europe, there was a huge cultural shift away from nationalistic ideology into more of an East vs West mentality with the rise of a very new kind of culture: the communist culture. While in many ways this was merely an outgrowth of the nationalistic culture which was exploited in the rise of Fascism, it was nevertheless a cultural shift.

But Europe gave up. It gave up on its own history and culture which had successfully helped with withstand and survive over a thousand years of assault from the Islamic ideology. In only a few short decades Europe embraced socialism and threw out its history and culture at the same time. Now, caught in the midst of trying to redefine its own culture, it has instead adopted a culture of non-culture - a culture where anything is acceptable and where a lack of any kind of conformity is the rule and norm. It the the adoption of a nihilistic approach where a lack of conviction in one's core beliefs has taken hold and now these nations merely drift along without a rudder on a sea of change. The maelstrom of Scylla and Charybdis approaches and the sailors on the deck lounge around while the captain stands in the bow looking down at the deck.

Good summation Blair, but remember, Eastern and Mideastern cultures are not based on reason, science nor conscience/ethics. Life is cheap there and the populations, for the most part, per-literate.

There has been a concerted effort not to raise them up into civilized societies but to devolve all the other cultures and societies to match.

It's easier for the delete ruless class to rule pagan cultures than one's that think, create, know right from wrong and have a conscious mutuality with others.

It is a great loss, the cultures of western Europe once made America what it once was. One Culture, made up of many.

Let's be very specific when we talk of cultures, because the ancient Arab cultures were the one who purportedly advanced the idea of the zero in mathematics and developed our current numbering system along with the notion of algebra. What is unfortunate is that that culture was completely obliterated and replaced by the current Islamic culture - which I agree has zero basis in reality, reason, or science.

What I find most disturbing in the growing culture wars is the level to which people are willing to simply give up rather than develop conviction in anything. They allow themselves to be cowed into submission by elitists - whether they be mullahs or dictators. That is the one thing I think America brought to the forefront that no other nation at the time (or since really) has done: encourage individualism and self-reliance. In all other nations I can think of, individualism is deeply suppressed, and that is indeed one of the focuses of not only socialism and communism, but of many religions as well.

But satisfaction and personal achievement are similarly suppressed in such environments. One has few victories to celebrate when one is a cog in a machine, and certainly no personal advancement or invention! There becomes no internal drive to better one's self through education or learning or practical application of skill, and certainly no long-term goal development.

Yes, there was a short time in history when Arabs created values...I always wondered, if we didn't tell them about oil...would they still be riding camels and sleeping in tents?

You sound so sure of yourself. The "great minds" have been pondering this for centuries. I met a guy in a bar, (Yes, Jews go to bars) and he was convinced that nothing mattered because through various experiments he found that the entire universe is a bubble in a glass of beer being drunk by a university student named Joe Bltzlflk. It is a theory as likely to be true as anything Albert came up with.
