“After 108 years, the Boy Scouts program is set to drop the gender from its name and re-emerge as "Scouts BSA," a more "inclusive" group that will also soon welcome girls in its ranks...”
Individual rights literally means the rights of everyone. The question of "whose" makes no sense. Segregation is an example of the right to free association with any group an individual chooses to define. Segregation might be wise or unwise, none of us can fully judge that. But the imposed lack of segregation (inclusion) definitely infringes on individual rights.
As a fellow Eagle Scout, OA member, Cub Scout leader, Troop leader and ultimately a District Commisioner, I am totally disgusted with what my beloved BOY Scouts has become. I learned so much, as did my son. Some of the best times of my youth were there. RIP BSA
As a Senior Girl Scout, I resent this! I will always be a Girl Scout and at my age you would have to go a long way to use the term 'girl'. What is wrong with people? I think this is nuts!
The actions of the Left will always eventually fail. Their goal is to A) profit off the failure as long as possible and B) take as many people down with them as possible. They also think that somehow they will be immune to the fallout.
Just one more thing to sadly say goodbye to. Perhaps it is a good thing to dilute the title of the organization. since the organization itself is being diluted so that it no longer has a direction as well defined as in the past.My grandson is an Eagle Scout and his dad took part as a motivator and cheering section. They became closer than ever through his teen years, which is a time in a young man's life that is notorious for conflicts between fathers and sons. Well, I guess we'll see, but I don't think it bodes well for the BSA.
Methinks "consent of the governed" is restricted to mature adults. Immature adolescents (if not late stage juveniles) with raging hormones is going to contemplate a "learned respect" at the sight of naked bodies? Me no think so. Memories of teen behavior does not rationally conclude that's remotely possible. That's even likely to be too tough enough for too many adults to handle.
That question completely ignores our founding: all true rights - Life, liberty, pursuit of happiness - apply to everyone. Don't try to divide individuals. Boys have a right to be a part of an organization for them; girls don't have the right to impose/force themselves on the boys..
It strikes me that the the next attack will be on professional sports, not just related to sexual preference but to the whole concept of teams. When your quarterback gets hurt you should be able to put in anyone that is sitting on the bench regardless of team, just pick the best one. Someday, after I'm gone of course, all of this nonsense will blow up and it will just end and start over again. We live in a progressively more sick world.
It'll be more like marriage, having someone to do those things for you. I wonder if there will be any other issues, especially on those camp outs, or will they be segregated, and by what definition of sexual being? Will it be physical or emotional?
A long time ago I heard someone describe the difference between a conservative and a liberal.
If a conservative doesn't like a restaurant, he will say "I won't eat there again." If a liberal doesn't like a restaurant, he says "Nobody can eat there again."
Damn, if only we had that when I was trying to get into the Scouts, those camping trips would have been more fun. Instead I joined the Civil Air Patrol. Is there anyplace left that boys can just be boys, or is it all over?
Thinking of camping, and boys and girls, shouldn’t the privilege of privacy be valued above the gender-identification of the privy? As in the “consent of the governed”. As in “Starship Troopers” by which time individuals might have learned respect for their differences rather than the religiosity of inhibitions.
In the war of emotion over reason, emotion can be used as an extremely sharp and effective weapon. Just think about all the starving children all over the world, and reason takes a back seat for most.

I love it! But I suppose I'll never be President, now that I've agreed with such a sexist comment...
