It used to be a "badge" of honor to say one was an Eagle Scout and employers considered it a mark of honesty and high praise. The military automatically ranks you up if you are an Eagle Scout - even the enlisted folks. That will all disappear now that there will be no exclusivity and no meaning to what was once a singular honor.

Presumably, the girl scouts - and gays and transgenders - will be assimilated into the "Scouts"; then no one will have to buy GS cookies, and perhaps enough boys (properly defined) will drop out which will destroy the intended initial good of the organization.
Liberals always choose destruction over the "unequal" and "discrimination" (of a moral kind). People need to push back on the so-called gender crisis of differentiation.

Not many years ago there was a raging argument about IQ test performance and its consequences. This considered Mensa membership and "Ms and feMs or Mensa and Densa" (sic).

As an Eagle Scout and Scoutmaster, this was disappointingly inevitable, but the result of electing to the Scout Board individuals who never believed in Scouting they way Lord Baden Powell envisioned - as a place to train boys to become real men with leadership and life skills and a focus on morality and hard work. That's anathema to the leftists because it is contrary to everything they stand for. The leftists started off by getting them dropped from United Way funding, then had a temporary setback with the Dale decision (Supreme Court) so they decided instead to infiltrate the Scout Board and change the policies from there. There is effectively zero official Boy Scouting organization as of this decision.

You will see the Boy Scouts effectively dissolve as an organization in the next two years because the mainstay of Scouting has been Christian Churches, especially the Baptists and Mormons. Once those two organizations drop out, Scouting is done - no matter how "inclusive" they want to be. There were already a host of Christian churches which dropped support after the policy about homosexual scouting leaders. This will be the final nail in the coffin.

Don't need to. That organization was co-opted by the left 30 years ago. The only thing left of that organization is the cookies.

Sea Scouts has been co-ed for decades.

It is a great idea. The boys will now have someone to cook and wash for them on camping trips.

There are boy and girl scouts. All the rest would be rangers.

He is a "Boy Scout" that was an analogy for a well prepared thoughtful young man . Boy Scouts came under attack because that's what the left does....they attack good and positive. Cancerous Corporate leaders who clearly oppose family values assist . For example Actions of Disney Inc. who prohibited employees to donate to the organization fifteen years ago. Gay scout leaders hmmmm is that a good idea ? It Probably increases the potential for abuse and now having young girls at over night camp outs.

The Girl Scouts is the way that it is because that is the way the people involved over the years have made it.
That is the way they wanted it, and so they made it into what they wanted.

Over time, some of the programs have changed, others have remained the same or very similar. That's the way the people wanted it and so they kept it the way it was.

Now it is drastically changing, and it is changing quickly. I expect that they will find a need to integrate the separated boy/girl dens and troops after a while.
If they really had any intention of creating really separated programs, they would have created the "BSA Girls' Scouting" and created it as a separate set of programs.

Yeah, and just who will end up as a Target? Perhaps, a new MeToo recruit, who only came to roast marshmallows over a campfire before turning in for the night.
