This is going to be an Onion campaign, layer after layer before we get to Hillary and The Obamanation, but it will happen. I mean "Halper has been paid $928,800 since 2012 for work on four policy projects for the Pentagon" from this dufus is like saying "Put him on the Pentagon Payroll so we can use him when needed to schmarm his way into who we want to know more on".

    Power corrupts.
We should remove support of all kinds for both the GOP and the Dems. They have both earned severe punishment for their sordid looting of the taxpayers in pursuit of power and wealth.

Yes. How do you suggest doing that?

Consumer strike is the only legal, peaceful way that I can think of that would have an effect in the near term on government and on corrupt big business looters. Political action at the grassroots level has been done for 30 years and failed to significantly affect the feds - except for action that increases federal power.

Money talks. It is just the source of the money is so tenuous and consumer strike (where only maybe 20% would participate) would take a long time to be felt. More localized issues like guns seem to get better results, Dicks is feeling the pain, and Citi and BA will soon feel it. But as a tool for change it is limited. If donors stopped, that would have a huge impact.

You're right. Money talks. That's why a consumer strike would be effective.
20% real participation would have the multinational corporations squirming in a few weeks and the first month results would be so severe that the government would hold back releasing them. A 20% drop in non-essential revenues would have the major chain store cowardly CEO's screaming at their bought congress-critters (threatening to stop and stopping corruption/election payments) and starting lay-offs with the first quarterly results.
Until that happens, the effect on those participating will be very little, and might actually have a positive effect on many upper middle class teens.
You say more localized action works better, but in the "great recession", retail spending was only drop 4.5%, services -1.6%, leisure/hospitality -4.5%. Total consumer spending was only down 1.9% comparing 2007 to 2009. See the chart in:
            https://www.bls.gov/opub/mlr/2014/art...
Twenty percent reduction in non-essentials would be massive in retail and soon thereafter crushing on commercial real estate, and on the banksters holding commercial real estate debt. Commercial insurance smarmy CEO's would be screaming, too. The DOW would be down 5000 points in a few weeks and the easiest solution would be made obvious on billboards saying "Government Get Out of the Way."

It is a good model, I just do not see 20% of the country doing so, as all the peasants are engineered to believe "I need it". There isn't much I buy anymore thatisn't for my animals (horses, goats, dogs, cats).

I just need to win the lottery so I can afford to raise awareness and get a strike started. (I don't play the lottery so not likely unless Midas is reading this;^)

Unfortunately, I do, 3 sets of numbers for 20 years, and no, I don't need you to tell me how much I have wasted. I have occasionally won some back, but not enough to offset, as it is intended to do.
