It is a shame what is being done to the BSA! Destroy organizations such as this that have been one of the cornerstones of our country and you will end up with the shallow shell we are now becoming. One by one the Progressives are dismantling these foundation stones. The BSA helped generations build character, pride and that magical product called "Self Esteem". What the schools are giving us now in that category are generations of young people who have assumed the mantle of "Snow Flakes" with a false sense of "Self Esteem" however with an over abundance of "Entitlement"!

The BSA went a long way to molding generations of young men who learned character, self-reliance and EARNED "Self Esteem". This is the way it was and the way it should be but alas, those days are coming to an end!

What we see now is an idiotic and counter-productive onslaught by Progressives attempting to destroy everything that Scouting stood for. This is also a harbinger in that without what scouts learned through generations who participated, the nation will soon be a collection of mindless, cattle all moving in the direction their overlords want them to go. They are not being taught right from wrong (too judgemental), they are not being taught morality (instead they learn Moral Relativism", in short they are learning the antithesis of scouting. This change is our downfall whereas we are placing our trust in failing education system. Perhaps that system is what should be gutted and destroyed instead of Scouting! For what its worth!

I have two sons who are Eagle Boy Scouts....and a 1 yr old grandson....our chapter in south florida were Jewish...the one in Dallas were mostly engineers from Texas Intruments (very competive Soapbox Derbies)

What astonished me was that the President of BSA beamed that this was wonderful. I can almost hear Karl Marx revisiting Reagan: Uncle Sam, tear down this culture.

But it's not all bad news. Maybe the Boy Scouts will morph into the LGBTQ Rangers. Lock yer doors.

A systematic war by the left on the values of America. Look around how the old values are disappearing chunk by chunk. People don't pay much attention because it is done "under the radar" so to speak. By the time they'll realize what has been happening all the freedom and values will be gone, replaced by a PC state and dictatorial powers.

The Libs don't care about girls being in the boy scouts. They just want someway to get rid of this organization because it is male. And they are doing just that. It was their aim all along.
My son loved scouting and so did my husband who received The Order of the Arrow.

I am moved almost to tears. I was a boy scout, I was a cub scout leader, my son was a scoutmaster, my grandson is an eagle scout. It seems that the world is being taken over by idiots.

In these days of political correctness, it is not surprising that organizations like the Scouts, that used to promote the ideals of God, Country, and the Scout Oath. are under great pressure from the Left and the feminists to set these values aside and trade them in for “inclusiveness”. Frankly, it’s disgusting.
Just like white males in general have been targeted for destruction, so to are groups like the Scouts. What amazes me is how quickly the BSA leadership has caved. Knowing the male culture of scouting at the troop level, I find it difficult to believe that the the changes announced are supported by the rank and file. I’m also surprised that there has not been a general revolt by Scout troops across the country. That’s the only real way to save Scouting as we have known it, but that does not appear to be likely. And without something like a revolt I must agree that the Boy Scouts Of America will very soon be assigned to the dustbin of history. And I also say good for the Mormons for taking a stand. Scout troop leaders everywhere should do the same.
So sad. Another great institution down the tubes.

Mormons supported them for 105 years. Scouts will be irrelevant way sooner than another 105 years. Scouts are based on male identity. This liberal idea of everyone following their own way and ignoring their groups is self-destructive. Institutions that suppress people wanting to do things outside their group, like girls doing boys things, allowed man to grow from small tribes into huge nations. Efforts to ignore basic biological group membership are bound to fail. It's just a question of how soon.

Yeh, IF the gov't lets them back out. Remember, we are no longer a free country. My youngest son loved scouts and I volunteered in whatever part of the scouting program he was in. I did merit badge clinics, I was on the scout counsel, I was a den mother, etc. My son made Eagle Scout. We are Mormons, but I am inactive right now. This is heart-breaking to me.

Just to be clear I think that is a huge loss. They will start their own organization and that will be that.
The boy scouts Board have been squeezed from both sides now.
