Inconsistent Approaches; Military Role

These two are inconsistent, but that is not new. One approach involves individual choice and perhaps some psychological/physiological anomalies. The other involves an a very inconsistent military/civilian approach to minor medical records and their application to adult life.

Transgender people, or any other individual choice is just fine. However, the country is in an uproar over military service for 0.5% of the population that probably choose to serve at a percentage less than the general population.

What a waste of time.

I don't think the country is an uproar. I think transgender issue is just an out-group group dejour. It's not about the people or their serving in the military. It's just about making deplorables feel a little better by making some strangers' lives a little more difficult.

This healthcare privacy issue, OTOH, is a real issue. It doesn't lend itself to demagoguery, so there is less "uproar". This issue is real. The other one is as you say a waste of time.
