Still relevant today. If it wasn’t, mankind would be lost.

Most of those who promote and agree with the concept of social utopia believe that they will be in the Ruling Class. When you hear them preach, ask them how that is possible.

One of the "related" videos when I watched this one was titled "Ayn Rand vs Two Liberals". One of them was Phil Donahue, the host of the show.

This idiot in the audience first accuses Rand of running a cult, then you can hear the beeping as she backtracks the comment.

Donahue then says "A good vigorous exchange of views between two people who care and have differing positions is one of the most instructive things that can happen.'

She then absolutely nails him to the wall with her response: "I would love to see an honorable adversary but I've stopped hoping for it."

God, how I wish I could have met this woman.

I have told this story many times, but I think that it shows the power of A.R.'s words. When I was almost 15, I read The Fountainhead. I was so thrilled by it that I wanted to use parts of it to remember by always having it to read without cracking the book.(This was way before electronic anything that you could carry with you, even pocket calculators) After I read it, I bought two more copies and tore out the pages of Roark's speech. And taped to my bedroom wall.. From then on, no matter how bad I felt from the craziness going on all around me, I would read that courtroom scene and it would assure me that I wasn't alone. That sane people with great asperations not only existed but were able to communicate their ideas to me. So - until "Atlas" I had Howard the architect. Knowing my love for the book and the character a friend of my son'r who wrote and drew a comic book about an alien duck who had all the characteristics of an adult human male (including a condom in his wallet) when searching for a name for his character, called him "Howard The Duck." The character had a year of fame and even had a movie made of the Duck.. How's that for trivia? How Ayn Rand seeped into satire done by others.

What amazes me is how easily this has been done and formalized in schools as education.

In the book there was a Minitry of Truth. I was thinking of a brand new ministry, created just for him. The Ministry’s of Progress, which causes retrogression.

Way too sickly. Although that can be an advantage for the more altruistic followers.

    H. Clinton because it is all about the power and control as a mechanism to rule.

Maybe Bernie Sanders if Bernie actually articulated his philosophy. Ellsworth Toohey (and many of the other characters) aren't particularly realistic because they say out loud what their philosophies are--and even in this video it says that you shouldn't articulate this out loud while simultaneously putting it into words. But maybe Bernie. It's been around longer than him, though, so I don't know.

Who does Ellsworth Toohey remind you of today?
