Immigration: Visa quagmire forces San Jose cafe owner to 'self-deport'

Now this is an interestinf example of how trying to fix one thingbreaks another. The guy seems to be doing what the visa system wants, he has 2 businesses and employees, pays taxes, and could not get his visa renewed. It does seem like a weird system, and prone to one party or another to establish arbitrary criteria (i.e maybe his name just was not right), but it seems this is a screwy a deal as you can get.

Typical Bay Area liberal newspaper. Out of the millions of illegals in California, they pick one who actually is contributing, and by inference make him the prototypical illegal. Happens all the time in the media there (and I had 20 years experience in that location), and this is just another example.

The purpose of government here in the USA at this point in time is to promote ITSELF and its minions. The citizens' agendas are a distant side effect.

As to this case, I suspect that he didnt offer government enough benefits in some way. The fact that people partronize and like his businesses just isnt important, nor is the independence of his employees from government handouts something that government wants.

If these folks are as Red-White & Blue as the Newspaper paints then I have to wonder if the INS official handling their petition is/was an Obama-era holdover and selected this Kuwaiti couple for the Potomac-Two-Step Bureaucratic SNAFU in an effort to make the Trump Administration look bad.

Naah -- that'd never happen {cough} I just think reasonable people should be looking for false flag attac (( asdf';lk ....&&&&&.....,(((

How often have I pointed out how often and stupidly the government screws up? It rejects the very people that a summary investigation would indicate we should keep. This must be the 1,463,978th time I've had the need to point out why the government not only doesn't do it better, but they usually screw it up.

I'll have more sympathy for this guy (who broke our laws to get here) when the Whites in South Africa and the Christians in the Middle East are given priority refugee status.

The guy lied to get in. He did not belong here at all.

I think that illedgal aliens should be subject to the same "merit based" requirements as anyone else. I certainly think that 99% of the syrian refugees would never pass any sort of merit based test.

Look at Canada and Australia to see how they do it. You cant even VISIT either place on a vacation if you have had a DUI in the past 5 years. Immigration there is VERY strict, and they seem to be doing just fine.

term2 Correct, as far as intentions go.
In reality however, tourists with bulging wallets, UK tradesmen, and popular
Philippine professional and technical medical staff are stopped on technicalities.
Given the state of the world is such that millions of fine people are available as refugees, it takes some -err- skill to select the ones who want to chop off our heads, which is what happens.
Australian immigration policy- good to learn from, do not copy.

I know people who would like to visit canada but cant because of DUI some years ago. Kind of stupid actually. I dont even think DUI is a legitimate crime- there was no victim unless they crashed into someone, in which case THAT is the crime, not the DUI part.

If I were to answer "Rice Pudding" to every question, it would make just about as much sense this guy's replies to the questions. Listening to him is verbal quicksand, and the more you struggle to make sense of what he says, the further down you go. My solution? Just shoot me..

That's right. Hard working? Get the hell out! He should have been shooting people in the back up the road in San Fran while high on drugs. Live and learn...

Exactly, (same here), illegals get in and stay in,
bludgers get in from family connections and by claiming to be refugees.
Meanwhile, hard working people are thrown out as they are an easy touch for the system.
.. .. and, confirm- San Jose, California (of the sanctuary city!)
