So, California has a quarter of the US homeless population and an Orange County admin wants them gone. So my question is - Does this show atlas shrugged predictions have finally come true?

There's a video out there that a guy took from a gopro on his helmet as he rode his bike through the tent city by Angel's Stadium. You gotta see it. It's right out of the Grapes of Wrath. It's hitting all over now. My neighbor had a hobo do a home invasion on them the other day. I almost ran over a drunk hobo on my way to work a few days ago. In some areas there are just rows of tents on the shoulder of the road. Many areas like highway cloverleaves, under overpasses have tents.

It makes the progressive left very happy to see all the suffering. They rub their little hands together and coo...

I was on las vegas blvd in North Las Vegas this morning and saw at least 200 homeless people camped on the sidewalk next to a cemetary. I have NEVER before seen so many homelsss in one place.

I say the more these people are given, the more people will choose to get free handouts instead of working. I say, let them fend for themselves without the rest of us feeling guilty.

Short answer: this is what they want. They want to reduce people to serfdom because they fancy themselves as the lords. Feudalism is not dead - it's just socialism/communism by another name.

Absofreakinlutely awesome! Which sanctuary city will lose the "homeless hot potato " relocation derby? I'm rooting for San Fran and its above the law, sanctimonious mayor. I almost feel sorry for those Kalifornia lefty hypocrites.

Please don't feel sorry for them. They deserve everything that they are reaping. So many Liberals are leaving Kalifornia, but instead of leaving their lefty ideas behind, they are taking them with them and thus causing other states pain. They never learn.

I ALMOST feel sorry for them. I don't really because I live in Colorado, one of the first states those leftist locusts destroyed . I don't know how many times I heard how bad it was in Kalifornia, right before they proposed the same thing here. Hopefully, they'll finish destroying this place soon and move on so that we can try and fix it.

Maybe we should LET california be a santuary state and allow the immigrants, legal or otherwise, to live there if they want. BUT, if they go to another state, they will be met by ICE and deported. Let California bear the costs of the illegals and homeless that they seem to want. No federal bailouts, though.

I like your ideas. The mayor of Oakland is really working on this, except for the part that allows other states to deport illegals. Alas, we will continue to bail out Kalifornia no matter how loony they get because the Democrats need their electoral votes.

California declares itself as close to heaven as you can get. Hmm. With the nation's highest number of poor, and the highest number of homeless, per capita, with San Francisco streets resembling the slums of a third world country, I think I might prefer to call it something else. There's a glimmer of hope now that the Democrats have lost their supermajority in the state legislature, possibly slowing the state's descent into socialist oblivion.

I suggest we let Calif. airheads have all the illegals they want, then we put a wall between Calif. and the rest of the US. Then lets see how there little liberal utopiawowrks out for them when they have to keep all the illegals, and provide for them. See how long the legal residents remains there befoe asking to cross the e"border."

You can expect to see a return of polio and explosion in hepatitis with these conditions. It all plays perfectly into the hands of the militant leftist progs. Watch for these headlines on your evening news in the near future...

Even here in Canada I am seeing more homeless than I used to. We have to look at the root causes for homelessness, loss of jobs, and situations leading to reliance on social welfare. There are some homeless or destitute people that make decisions leading to their situation, but also many who do their best in life, but end up in dire situations as a result of things out of their control. Why are people losing their jobs? Why is housing so expensive: etc? You can see evidence of such situations around the world.
What is the root cause? If we fix that, rather than trying to plug a hole that keeps getting bigger, the issue will pretty much take care of itself.
