I did something I never really thought I'd do. But, after evaluating what I spend on golf with my family already, and in looking for an oasis from this crazy place (California) I joined a country club. This one is right near my home, is golf-centered with a fantastic clubhouse, bar-and-grille, pro staff, etc., and has a world class golf course. Already, just being a member less than a week I am impressed with how friendly everybody has been. When I go there it feels like a weight is lifted. Lots of friendly capitalists who also love golf. I joke with my buddies that I need to get some checkered pants now...haha!
