Atlantis planning needs a survey expert

Many of us have started a planning exercise for Atlantis. It would be very helpful if someone put together a survey (perhaps with SurveyMonkey?) to gather data on the myriad of options for the Atlantis Project. Anyone interested?

Hi Doc and friends , I see that this issue was not tackled back when you compiled the homework list.I will take a shot. I am a second generation Real Estate developer, I grew up listening to the adults contemplating projects large and small, most disasters but some glorious successes.
I became an owners representative, the interface between the board room , construction trailer and permit office at city hall. I have been spit on by old ladies for desecrating the neighborhood for proposing a shopping center only later to see the same biddy happily strolling the aisles making a voluntary appearance at the opening sale.
The steps from concept to reality are complex , many and unique to each project. We need to expand the exercise from a survey or market analysis to a complete feasibility study , concept creation, scope description , capital budget , timeline and income stream.

So let us first define Atlantis as if it existed, focusing on the physical assets, size, location and facilities. I have some ideas on all of the above, some obvious like small subtropical unpopulated island that can be purchased along with development rights to same. Your wishes and thoughts will be the building blocks we use to flesh out the concept. Please help me with your ideas.

Those skills will come in handy on this project.
I see a preliminary Atlantis as a set of resort condos or hotel to start with, with an adjacent business incubator, at least 1/4 of which will be with fume hooded lab space.

I think a minimal Atlantis would be about 2 developed acres to start out of a possible 20-50 usable acres.

Location will probably be in the Caribbean or the western coast of Central or South America. The westernmost province of Panama or somewhere in Costa Rica currently are probably the best options. If it is not one of those countries, it will probably be an island.

Total capital outlay of $5 - 20 million, probably toward the high end, but probably near the $250 K per Gulcher range. The variability in capital outlay is mostly to account for how much interest we get. Obviously the solution to this problem is iterative.
