Geraldo Blindsides Hannity with Gun Control Rant: ‘This Is a National Emergency!’

A National Emergency? Irresponsible parents may be the National Emergency, or banning teachers from being armed. It seems everyone knew the kid was "weird", and was hurting animals, which is a classic sign of someone who can kill, yet , nope, nothing. Wait until they act then complain afterwards. Typical, as usual response. Banning guns will never happen, but making parents responsible for access is a lot more different.

Blindside? That's why they hired Geraldo. He's an entertainer with delusions of grandeur - like most entertainers, he feels he should tell others what to do, and the network hires these attention whores because they preach the statist propaganda. Nothing new. Geraldo has always been an idiot and will never change to a sane rational being. Watching him is masochistic and/or insane.

I listened to a bit of stupid Geraldo. NEVER AGAIN. FOX should fire him immediately, if not sooner. He is an idiot and belongs on CNN. His ideas are just impractical- look at Chicago's crime and their strict gun laws. The statists just want to protect the government from its citizens.

Chicago and DC are poster children for how NOT to do gun control. It always fails with good people defenseless and bad people armed to the teeth.

Makes me more convinced that the real function of gun control (and other government programs) is to keep government safe from its citizens by keeping them powerless and dependent. From that perspective , government has been successful- they now control our medical care, our food supply, availability of trade with other countries, ability to start and run businesses, transportation of all types, power generation, ability to communicate, the internet, the money, and more. It’s evil really and they can manipulate any of these things to it’s own advantage

No wonder the statists hate the whole idea of a trump

I know how irresponsible of me to want to hold people who take taxpayer money being held responsible for their job...oh well, call me crazy, but I have my first grandchild, who just turned 1 yr old and I do not want to lose him to the totalitarian state and the govt indoctrination program...known as "public school"...one of the kids killed at Parkland was a grandson of one of my wife's best friends...heads need to roll at the FBI and the Broward county school system...

I took my daughter to the ER last week and one question on the paperwork was "Are there any guns in your home?" I am 81 years old and live in a home that is 8000 square feet! In Texas! My answer was, "None of your damn business!"

I LIKE THE COMMENT MADE BY MR. CLARENCE THOMAS THE OTHER DAY, "WE NEED TO STOP BEING VICTIMS". THESE SHOOTERS ENJOY THE FEAR FACTOR THEY INSTILL. WHAT WOULD AN ENTERTAINER LIKE GERALDO KNOW ABOUT WHAT IT MEANS WHEN YOU MUST FIGHT FOR WHAT YOU KNOW IS RIGHT?

I recently heard about how much they actually knew about this kid. When my buddy was done telling me the dossier I said, "Well...that doesn't happen on accident. Sounds like it was done on purpose." Truth is stranger than fiction...

Watching tv as heraldo comes on and starts to speak with this stern look on his face.......MUTE BUTTON! His mustache is moving but blissful silence. There are probably millions of these "assault" type semi auto rifles in this country.
What if the gun makers made semi auto rifles that look like a "normal" rifle. Can't hide the magazine. But, no handgrip or folding stock etc.
    Would heraldo feel better.

Geraldo lost relevance in...wait. Was he ever relevant, really?

He’s the “shape-shifter” of whatever his range of the moment thinking(?) will get Geraldo noticed. Liberal? Sure. Investigative reporter? Absolutely. Here’s Capone’s secret vault...oops. Libertarian? Yeah, that’s it! Until not.

So Hannity (no big fan) is “blindsided”?

    Gimme a NY break...

Geraldo seems to over react to everything. He never seems to do the hard reasoning this issue deserves. Politicians have gone off half cocked since Colunbine, always with the guns, nvever with the whole pictur. Once the gun banning is dropped, they forget all else, and ntohing gets solved. Psychotropic drugs in many of the shooting. School indoctrination of there is no right and wrong, and always trust in peer, not parents. Our schools have screwed up and failed to educate our kids for years. Group therapy in classrooms of 9 year olds, by a silly teacher - dangerous! Then did this shooter start go go off the edge, how many years ago, and who tried to turn him around - no one? Why was the FBI at the house of the Sandy Hook shooter the day before that happened, telling him they wanted to recruit him? I seriously think the government is so in desire of gun ban that they will do anything. Tehy FBI was online with the Columbine shooters, under an assumed name, prior to that incident. The Colo. theater shooter spent the summer before in an experiment in brainwashing with the CIA, which was mostly hushed up. Our kids are being driven into cognitive dissonance by what goes on in schools. I really would like to hear at what young age this recent shooter needed help, but was ignored. I still want to know why the autopsy and drug results in Las Vegas have been keep secret. We are being played by the gun grabbing media and politicians. None of them mention the guy also was building a bomb, which is often thee case, or that he could have used poisons or knives or even a vehicle to kill. Minus guns, the kids are still not safe.

I may be a little fuzzy on the details, but as I recall, the biggest number of school victims from an attack happened in the late 1920s. There were 29 students and teachers killed by a homemade bomb. Arson has also been used in an attempt to kill schoolchildren. Guns aren't the only way to rack up a body count.

Exactly Doc, ban guns and they use knives, swords, hammers, hatchets. People cite Japan as the great gun control mecca, and they have incredibly strict laws, but knives and swords are common and used instead.

Japan has a higher suicide rate than the U.S., and they manage that without using guns. There was a very public assassination of a Japanese politician by an assassin using a sword.

Yes, inconvenient facts are ignored in these debates, they just need the ones that fit, so when you see articles on how "great" Japans gun laws are, they get left out.

If you want to solve this issue, simply cancel welfare and use the funds to pay for pleasant, polite armed security at every school. End of school shootings, and this government would support it.

Oh, you don't really want it that much? Thought not.

Remember, it was the ACLU who fought against Metal Detectors in our schools.

Also, he should not have been allowed on Campus.
How did he get in? Just like newtown shooter had no reason to get in the building.

My understanding is that this is one of the largest high schools in the nation and is comprised of several different buildings. Access to a couple of the buildings isn't very controlled and he knew that because he had been a student there (he was expelled for disciplinary problems). He waited in a stairwell, then went on his rampage then dropped all his firearms and fled the building along with all the legitimate students. They caught him like a mile away at a fast food place.

Yes, this is Access Control, vs. Security.
A lot of schools in FL are multi-building. We outgrow them before they are finished! Thanks to illegal immigration and being a sanctuary county.

We act as if protecting our kids is a HIGH priority. And STIPPING Guns from law-abiding people will help.

Meanwhile, we FAKE the security of our schools. Parents have to sign in, and therefore feel safe.

I agree with Hannity. Risk assessments and retired military, armed, in the schools and covering the perimeters.

Here's an idea: private schools who are responsible for not only their curriculum, but security as well. And let them have total control over their student enrollment. If you act up in class or aren't cutting the grades, you're gone.

More important comment should be concerning surveillance of Americans by our government. No one has any privacy from the NSA and the alphabet soup of government agencies. Billions being spent to invade our privacy with the result that we are less safe. Government agents (IRS, BATF, FBI, EPA, and many others) are trained with firearms to use them against the people for any reason that bureaucrats can imagine- and I do mean imagine, because they do not require evidence any more. Yet despite the obvious fact that schools are fat targets for crazy people to attack to get attention, no federal agency has tried to train teachers in handling and using firearms against intruders in an emergency.
Why? Because people being able to defend themselves is not in the interest of the power of the state to control people through fear.
The state does not want these murder sprees to stop. The feds love mass murders like these because they can pretend to care and pretend to do something to help, when in reality they use these events to increase their power over the people they are sworn to protect.

I am not so sure it is not the teachers who do not want ot have "icky" guns, in that they would then have to make a decision beyond something they just complain to kids about.

I can just about guarantee that there are a number of those teachers who wish they COULD have guns, at school. The reason most of them don't carry is exactly because of school policy.

I listened to one of our local liberal school administrators tell a crowd of parents that "Nobody is going to shoot little Suzy" should she decide to bring a gun to school...WRONG! If little Suzy is carrying a firearm and determined to kill and maim...little Suzy is going down. I'm outraged that a school official makes a remark that suggests that he would just stand by and let a shooter open fire, rather than stop the carnage because the shooter is "a child".
