I bet it can be done at 1/10th the current military budget, and troops will be available for parades to honor all the incompetent bureaucrats (and pols of both major parties) who are actually responsible for maiming and killing both troops and civilians.

IMHO, a parade is to celebrate. We have nothing to celebrate. Except electing Trump.

I do not care for the nation of a military parade in the US because of the irrational association of military parades with communist and despotic nations. Even so, after 8 years of O shitting on the military whenever the opportunity provided and the bumbling laughingstocks the MSM has presented me and my brethren for the last 40 years (stripes?) I can understand why something like this may be called for.
While I'm uneasy about the implication,I know Marines and Army vets who I respect that think it's high time the nation sees the military in general as something more than people too stupid to make it in society (despite the reality for the majority of those who serve/served),

As for the angst expressed above...not everyone need serve in the military to make sacrifices, voluntary scarifies for this nation.

As known here, I'm no myopic supporter of President Trump, but I have to say thus far he's doing a hell of a job for the most part being an American leader and working for all of America. He has far exceeded any expectation I've had for him without being the Conservative I long for in office.

Time will tell if I'm wrong.

I'm all for a good old military parade honoring the military and their families. And by the way, I agree with the Prez that those kneeling during the anthem are SOBs. Call me old fashion if you like. As a recovering liberal, I still have a long way to make things right for my liberal mental illness years of foolishness. You can continue marching with a pink hat and vagina outfit as well as voting in senile politicians that spend 8 hours talking on behave of illegal non-citizens instead of the American people. Sooner or later you'll get some wisdom in you and go through a liberal recovery program too. So yes, let's defund sanctuary cities and have a big f***ing parade with the money. Just to watch liberals head explode, invite Putin and Adam Schiff too. Hoorah!

All the other ones I looked at seemed to be sensible.

I thought it was an interesting article, although I don't think it was proper for him to send that obscene gerund over the Internet. My father, a (now-deceased) Naval veteran of World War II, also hated military parades.Someone else, who identified himself as a veteran, sent a letter to the editor of the Richmond paper about it, expressing much the same sentiments.--And after all, why not use the money to give the servicemembers what they need, such as better equipment and/or pay raises? I think I will cut that letter to the editor out of the paper and send it to the President.

Military parades bring back bad memories :-( Seems the General always selected the wrong uniform; Tan short sleeves when it was cold and Blues when it was hot. Saturday mornings spent marching up and down the parade field, (when we should have been in our bunks sleeping off the hangover from Friday night.) Yet somehow I stayed with it. I must be nuts?
