Mueller memos illustrate media's great divide

Here is an example of twisted media reporting a "story" as if it is factual and straight up, yet complains that news outlets are now political. They skew the story with numerous negative statements about Fox as if they would have defended Nixon in Watergate, and thus equate the actions of Trump as being the same, yet avow the "Memo" is just nothing as such stalwart intellectuals as Rachel Maddow are whining "This is all" ( Yes, Rachel, lying to a Federal Judge to spy on a US citizen is a bad thing, and is the equivalent of the Republicans burglarizing the Democrats). Yet the very topic they are talking about is clearly espoused in their reporting, they skewer the "right" guy, and make out the "left" as just poor little people trying to make the truth known. Yet throughout this disjointed diatribe, it is clear that AP is not a neutral reporter, but a clear left side of the road provocateur. That is the real issue, our society is broken into 2 parts with a middle group of looter beneficiaries willing to sell themselves to the greatest pork producer. Objective reporting is dead in the news, if, and a very big if, it was ever alive. Look back at history and see how every news organization since the War For Independence has a political axe to grind, and did so, all the way through today, from the evil English, the filthy Spaniards, the evil NIps, to the deadly Commies, all the while professing "Thats the way it is". In the 60's, something happened, the change in 1964 on to a cynical, negative, support for the "deep state" started to migrate in, as if someone, somewhere, issued new instructions as to who the "enemy" is.

In the 50's and 60's, most towns had two newspapers, one would have a Republican Op-Ed page and the other Democrat. Some bias would slip into the selection of the news to be covered but the reporting, itself, would be pretty neutral. You could read the same story in both papers and recognize it was the same by other means than the names and places. Today, all news is political, all reports are slanted and there is no way to read about the facts of an event. It is embarrassing to read reports from your own side and infuriating to read the oppositions versions. The most disturbing experience is to read a report of an event that you witnessed and find that you don't recognize it from the article.

Gergen "hopes things will settle down."
Of course he does! Settle down to a constant advance of socialism and enslavement of the people by elitist looters like Gergen.

Stop watching the news. Its a waste of time and the only thing it does is brainwash people in favor of their own enslavement because they have never learned to T-H-I-N-K Rationally.

You once mentioned running for office. Still considering it? I fear it would ruin your prescient writing. Moved recently after much internal complaining (plus periodic griping in The Gulch) from Bend OR to Santa Fe NM. If this place is the future (which it isn't) you haven't yet seen what Berkeley would be like were it moved to New Mexico. Astoundingly leftist, with practically no disagreement. And people openly wonder why their "remedies" only make the situation worse. I could write a book! Hey??!

I would run for office, if I ever retire, simply because I believe that any legislator needs to NOT be a professional legislator, but an amateur. Considering how deep the roty has spread, I cannot go with either main party so it would have to be as an independent, which then screws you when you get there, as you need to find a group to hang out with (caucus) and bow down to. The system has grown so corrupt it is almost not worth doing anything but tearing down and starting over . The Founding Fathers wisdom is still as valid today as then, with a lot of them clearly saying that you must not have a professional political class, yet here we are. I would say if you find either a strong conservative place or a strong liberal place, a lot of it would be smooth sailing, with the disagreements coming from outside. Yes, their remedies do nothing but make things worse, as they never address a problem, but seek to obtain loyalty through purchase. At someone else's expense, invariably...

Sad to say, but I used to look for the AP or UPI tagline to find reasonably objective new stories when local coverage smelled of political bias. Looks like the disease is contagious and has infected what once was a trusted source.

Actually I had heard that the AP is filtered through the CIA system that helps keep the news focused.

Upon checking this out, I discovered something interesting. In reporting on the FGM in Detroit, the AP story removed the Muslim Doctor and just used Doctor. But the LOCAL story clearly had stated she was Muslim.

This is interesting, because in an argument with a local, they were certain the AP story had included it, but it was only local (or Fox, in the end) that made sure to cover it.

And then it hit me. Because all news is local. We are seeing something else. Where the people LOCALLY are getting ONE set of facts, but NATIONALLY it is being CLEANSED of some facts so we do not FIND MANY STORIES are the same.

      Even when they are...

      My skin crawled!

The other creepy thing that made me doubt most news sources was multiple agencies using the exact same phrases when discussing a news event. Most of the time, Fox spokespersons don't do this, except to point out how others seem to be reading from the same script.

          Yes!!!

          I also learned something else.

When All the news media coverage causes you to WANT the same thing (Retaliation against Assad for gassing people), then it is CLEARLY a false flag!

Doc, I have found, when looking for a particular story, I can find it on several sites and pages, and it is almost always a copy verbatim, and credited to a different person each time. Exact words and phrases, and you can go from site to site seeing the same thing, until you get to the source (sometimes). Sometimes the source is never found, it is as if it just spawned into the air. Reminds me of 7 Days in May when they were going to take over and release a bunch of doctored news to justify their coup.

One of my minors is Telecommunications. Our professor had us read the RETRACTIONS of 3 newspapers every day for 1 week. I stopped reading newspapers.

But he also had us review stories about INNOCENT people who got AIDS (this was circa 1990). And we saw the same thing you are mentioning. NUMEROUS small town stories about a "relative" who had gotten a blood transfusion, or a routine surgery, and ended up with AIDS. The stories were literally the same, with names changed or relationships changed.

This was before they had the term Astro-Turfing for starting a FAKE grass roots initiative. He explained that the stories are packaged up for small towns, not designed to go national, but peddling a specific story... As a way to introduce it to the country so everyone feels like they had a shared experience, or a related story. Suddenly, accidentally getting AIDS seemed like a thing. (as opposed to the lifestyle thing it really was).

Exactly, Cap'n, and now we will see it from start to finish, the gun thing is spinning up, and no amount of logic will stop the drive to restrict guns and remove them to keep the state safe from rebellion. I often think maybe these things are engineered, because you read the same story over and over where a kid is a loon, a loner, tortures animals, and posts guns and stuff all over, along with threats. Then, boof, he shows up with an AK or AR and kills 5, 10, 15 people. How someone marches up to a school with a rifle and hides it in his shirt or pocket, I have never figured out, just like the infamous gay nightclub thing, yet it happens. Then the media kicks in 99% against guns and all these crying, weeping people in all 50 states demand gun restrictions. No one ever mentions how the clown had red flags all over them and were ignored, no one mentions that he "snuck in with a rifle", no one questions. Never answers, and then it happens again, rinse and repeat. I just saw an article about a grandmother who turned in her 18yo kid after she found a notebook he had planning a school attack with guns and bombs in WA state, but that is almost an outlier, and could also be engineered to say "sometimes it works". I am a suspicious old fool, but it never makes sense. And don't argue with the rabid anti gunners, or ask questions, they are as berserk as a Hillary supporter.....

Here is some illogic for you in the same vein:

"Wednesday's shooting was the 17th incident of gunfire at an American school this year. Of the 17 incidents, one involved a suicide, two involved active shooters who killed students, two involved people killed in arguments and three involved people who were shot but survived. Nine involved no injuries at all."

                https://www.yahoo.com/finance/news/fl...

Yet the other stories (with almost the same exact verbiage) say 30, 18 depends on the source wanting to impress you:

                http://www.businessinsider.com/how-ma...

                Here's a British site that says 11:

                http://metro.co.uk/2018/01/24/24-days...

The narrative changes, the numbers change, but the basic line stays the same, and is trying to incite panic in people with kids, that they are all in deadly danger. Yet no one questions why the loons can be loony for months or years, in full open site, and then go batty.

Exactly so, and with digital media, it is so much easier to intercept and manipulate, and it only takes some very small changes to slant it one way or another.

Sometimes when me dino watches Tucker Carlson and Sean Hannity, I'll switch to msnbc to see what Chris Hayes and Rachel Maddow are into in order to compare.
It's always lib spin propagandizing crap. Sometimes it's appalling lib spin propagandizing crap.
I've also noticed that libs have a monopoly on ugly looking people who on msnbc smirk a lot. I know that does not prove anything. Just sayin'.

Of course the left is trying to push this under the rug - it openly shows them trying to manipulate the election process through abuse of process. The facts of the matter that need to be brought out in all its sordid glory are these:

    1. Robert Mueller was head of the FBI during the non-investigation into the Clinton Uranium One deal while Hillary Clinton was Secretary of State. The Russians obtained something like 30% of the US raw uranium stockpile and the Clinton Foundation was paid tens of millions of dollars.
    2. James Comey was working on an exoneration draft regarding the Clinton email server even prior to interviewing any witnesses. Changes to the exoneration memo were also suggested by Peter Strzok, who was the primary FBI lead in the investigation.
    3. Both Comey and acting FBI Director Andrew McCabe signed versions of the FISA application requesting the wiretapping of Trump advisor Carter Page.
    4. In an incredibly rare event the FISA court initially turned down wiretapping warrants on Page. (How rare? Talk about less than a dozen denials out of more than 34,000...)
    5. It was only the addition of the infamous Steele dossier to the FISA application which granted the wiretap.
    6. The Steele dossier was paid for both by the FBI, but independently also by the DNC and Hillary's presidential campaign - and the FBI was fully aware of this.
    7. Steele was rabidly anti-Trump and the FBI was aware of this even though they paid him for the dossier.
    8. In a FISA application, it is arequirement by the applicants (the FBI) that ALL known biases of the informants be revealed.
    9. Steele paid his informants as well - which would also have been a bias which was a material omission on the FISA application because again it introduces bias.
    10. Comey had admitted to Trump that the Steele dossier was full of salacious material and lies. This is a startling admission as the dossier served as the primary source for the FISA application which was ultimately granted.
    11. No independent corroboration was ever done on the material in the dossier.
    12. FISA applications require at least two credible sources of information in order to be granted. What is interesting is that one of the "corroborating sources" was a Yahoo! News article which can be traced right back to Steele!

This is a tremendous misappropriation of the FISA courts - which by themselves are a violation of the Fourth Amendment IMHO - for political gains. IMO, everyone having to do with it should be tried for treason again this nation, found guilty, and executed.

All true and 1000 times worse than anything Trump has gotten into, yet there is NO action to hold any of them accountable, so that tells you where the real power still is, except for what Trump takes himself.

While you are 100% right, I'm not sure what good it may do you, since it appears as nothing will bring back a semblance of objective reporting ever again.I think that the only way we'll ever get fairly reporting media is to become the media , either through social or media media.
