Has anyone ever given thought to what the US might look like if everything would be evenly distributed? Who would control this even distribution? How would they maintain control, who would decide everything? Would we all be rich, poor, or somewhere in between? Would it eliminate, or perhaps increase, crime? Could I keep my retirement waterfront property or would I have to move or maybe share it with someone else? What would happen when I catch a nice big Walleye or a trophy Bass, would I have to share them? Will the players of the NFL share their wealth with the rest of us? What about Hollywood, would they live and eat like the rest of us? Who would decide if this should be a new post, or if it's okay to put it here? Would all of the media have to report the same thing, and would it all have to be the truth? These are just a few of my concerns, would I be allowed to continue to have concerns? Sorry, this has nothing to do with robots, or does it?

Perhaps a method of explaining this to the tech-savy, but socially degenerate programmers would be to force them to allocate equal resources to all functions of the robot - equal resources in programming and executing all software modules, all data buses, all motors and relays. Perhaps they could then better understand the idiocy that they are proposing.

Even a robot can be programmed to use facial expressions and body language to lie and steal like Hollywood actors and politicians.
The up side is that she works a lot cheaper than overrated Hollywood actors.

How many people will actually believe that this AIrhead reached this conclusion based on pure logic of computations? I know it is only a machine that can do only what it is told to do, but the people in the video interacted with it as though it were a conscious being. What if an army of these things were manufactured and put out into the world and used not only to influence actual humans into believing what they say (as if there are not enough influencial altruists already), but also to take actions to bring about actual redistribution scenarios?

I am totally freaked out right now! I think I need to go dust off some old Isaac Asimov novels and read them again.

Two comments. First I noticed the heading "Hanson's Alrhead", isn't that supposed to be "Hanson's Airhead"? And second, why would we need robots such as this, we already have democrats?

I'm hoping a bunch of socialists jump on this. Take their clues from robots or the media, but not brains.

When I'm done drinking my coffee this morning I will place my empty coffee cup in the middle of the office and it will direct us to work more efficiently, pay our taxes, and not say anything against our precious leaders. (I should shoot a little video of that and put it on youtube for you guys...)

Here's the one thing you can't "evenly distribute": the ability to think. It can't happen. And without the ability to think critically and with positive goals, giving those people more resources is just more waste.
