I believe wiggys is referencing the tendancy for mainstream science to just sort of make up an idea, and poo poo the ones they don't, even if the facts can be had to support them, kinda like politicians do, with making up a term to castigate those that do not sign up for the latest fantasies.

It would have cause enough dust, plus the fresh water infusion, that caused the Younger Dryas to plod on another 2000 years, as well as kill off several civilizations, and the melt cause water levels to rise worldwide, "sinking" the civilizations they find today, such as the ones of Okinawa.

Bullshit! A comet 100km across would have been a planet sterilizer! The asteroid that hit 65 million years ago was only 10-15 km in diameter. A 100km object would still have one side in space while the 'bottom' is smashing into the ground, no time for it to breakup in the atmosphere.
