James Damore sues Google, claims tech giant discriminates against white conservative men

His claims: that Google unfairly discriminates against white men whose political views are unpopular with its executives.

Damore is joined in the suit by another former Google engineer named David Gudeman, who spent three years with Google working on a query engine. According to Gudeman's LinkedIn profile, he left the company in December 2016 and has been self-employed since.

The lawsuit, filed by Dhillon Law Group, says it aims to represent all employees of Google who've been discriminated against due to their "perceived conservative political views by Google," due to "their male gender by Google" and "due to their Caucasian race by Google."

This is all part of the "uncivil war" being waged against a rational society. These corporate HR people are like the idiot who has to drive in the passing lane right alongside a car in the right with no one ahead of him and a trail of 50 cars behind wanting to pass. Some perceived wrong doing by white men in the past is enough for them to discriminate doling out their own self anointed justice. I would love to know how to by pass Google and YouTube. To support them is unfortunate , being the monopoly they are.
This is just one of many powerful companies now employing quota systems or discrimination.
I makes me sick these idiots all follow the leftist dogma
    That is Ruinous to all.

          Bookmarks?
Search using Bing or Duckduckgo or Yahoo instead of google?
Type 'http://galtsgulchonline.com' in the browser address line? (the site inserted the "http://" part, you don't have to type it)
Use addblockplus to stop google ads?
Use ghostery to stop google tracking?

Thanks those are great tips .
            Pardon my ignorance but when
I tap Safari for Internet search it defaults to google .I will have to explore my options.
            Thanks again.

I don't know about Safari specifically, but it can probably be set to display addresses of previous sites visited when you type in a few letters of the address. My browser offers a choice from addresses visited, bookmarks, and text typed. I also can save my favorite sites to the page that appears when I open a new tab, so I can just click a favorite to go there. (I do not like setting a single "home" site for new tabs so I turn that "feature" off .)

The success of Google and its You tube depend upon large numbers of users and not just you. It is somewhat like voting where an individuals vote is meaningless in the final outcome. Even though the politics of Google's bother me, I use it with the knowledge that areas such as news will be slanted towards the left but does not keep one from finding Conservative, Libertarian, or even Objectivist sites. It has very many informative math, science, and other sites which are useful and need not be fed cash by you and for which you do not have to agree with the owners of the sites. As for You tube, just do not believe everything you view or hear, nearly everything is slanted toward someones beliefs or due to their obsessive mental problems. One just harms oneself by avoiding the real world of which one example is Google. Only giving new ideas to those who use such services can have any chance of changing their ways.

However, wherever Google can be replaced without undue hardship to oneself, why not do it? There are other search engines and email hubs besides Google. And getting less biased results is a plus, isn't it?

There should be no hardship involved with using or not using any Internet sites since no force or threat of force is required by them.
There are no search sites without some kind of bias since each has some philosophic, religious, political, etc., owners. Bias is a strange thing in that no bias is also a bias. Just get what you can from any site without censoring yourself. You will never get enough users to quit it and make a difference. Perhaps as with most ideas, Google will naturally run its course and go away, but not by your individual vote.
As a consumer, just use what you are somewhat comfortable with and not try to punish others for different ideas.

I purposely do not use Google because of their liberal bias. They are my enemy and are supporting an end to individual liberty and they oppose free markets. They deserve all the scorn I can provide.

Interesting how one falls back to use a service that one finds doing evil. Does Google and You Tube do other than make it harder to find what one is looking for? To me those are useful services despite the politics of those connected with it. Would you prefer that government censor left leaning companies in favor of promoting right leaning companies? Eric Schmidt is free to try to influence politics just as you are free to do so. You might say that you have the more moral beliefs, but to attempt to change individual minds requires rational ideas and not boycotts fueled by emotionalism. Both Republicans and Democrats spend large sums trying influence elections and the direction of the economy. With better ideas eventually winning.
As for myself I see that the push for a Christian Theocracy could be even worse for capitalism than any fears about what Google or You Tube are doing business wise.

ALL major corporations in the Twin Cities have been actively discriminating against straight white males since the 1980's. I assumed it was happening across America. As much as I dislike the structure of class action lawsuits, this is one I'd VERY happily join.

Me dino is thinking about the last newspaper I worked for.
When I took the job during 1980, who thought a newspaper in the middle of Mississippi would expect me to be against the same President Reagan I voted for.
That same year me dino learned to my surprise that I could make more money painting walls for a construction company.
21 years with the Alabama Department of Corrections came next. It all worked out. Most of my cash flow is now a state retirement plan.

The so-called sexual harassment law started the trend of the government restricting workplace speech to the point of destroying the sense of community. Soon there will be actual campaigns to keep work boring.

Meanwhile companies like Google are going through the same kind of "convergence" that drove John Galt to leave New United Motor and nobody notices the parallel, even here.

what is new about this, conservative white me live with as much discrimination as any minority group. when conservative white men finally give up the whole of the world economy will come to a screeching halt. it will happen when they the white men finally understand completely the meaning of "the sanction of the victims" !!!!

Why just conservative white men and why a minority? While conservative whites (why a quasi-race is needed?) take part in the economy, they are only a small part of the world economy. Anyone who believes the politics of the day, can learn to be producers and consumers and can have new ideas and be creative.
It is a mistake to consider yourself as some kind of race such as white or black or brown, etc., it just causes mental problems. Even in dictatorships there are those who think freely since one's mind is an individual and can only be stopped by death. I am of the most untrusted in any society, an atheist, who by a recent survey is lower than even rapists in trustfulness. Like Dr. Strangelove, learn to quit worrying and love the real world with all its disgusting aspects which will take ideas to change and not just opting out of it.

Our Constitutional freedom of association includes hiring whomever we want. The hiring contract includes mutually agreed-upon rules of conduct. If Google wants only progressive, multiculturally inclined groupthink folks, let them. As long as Google's main product in the tech field is desired by customers, their business will thrive. It would be good for an alternative search service to be available, as our society has become dependent on Google for its day-to-day functioning. Should we boycott Google for the beliefs of their executives and interrupt our own efficiency? As long as we use its services, its internal politics are irrelevant. Since when do we want government to enforce private relationships and hiring practices?

I favor letting the free market decide, but there is no free market. We don't want government to interfere, but they are interfering and in this case they are arguably practicing discrimination that is not performance based. The laws should never have been allowed to interfere, but they exist and allowing government or private firms to use bias when applying the law is unacceptable, too.

It occurred to me that just like the Christian baker that refused to bake a cake (serve) for a gay couple Google has the right to employ whoever they choose. Am I way off base on this?
