Recipe:
2 lbs ground pork 3-6 hard boiled eggs
ground cornflakes
2 t salt, 1 t pepper, 1t each sage, thyme, paprika. 1/2t ginger 1/2 t heat-chili powder, red pepper flake, your choice. stir spices together and add to cold ground pork. mix well. Divide sausage according to how many eggs you have hardboiled and chilled. form sausage around eggs avoiding gaps. roll in ground corn flakes and set aside. In a fryer or deep pot, heat 3-4 inches of peanut oil. Peanut oil burns at a higher temp than most other oils. check oil temp by putting a small amount of the sausage in the oil. IF it cooks quickly without burning readily, the oil is ready. Place one or two eggs, but not more into the oil. turn gently. when the outside of the sausage corn flake coating turns golden brown,, gently scoop out with a metal strainer spoon and place on paper towels to cool. once they cool to room temp, place them in the frig for an hour or two. When ready to serve, pull them out of the frig and with a serrated sharp knife slice each egg (carefully-this part is tricky) maybe 5 times. Serve with hot mustard, chutney, chili sauce, hot marmalades.

I think you drink Scotch with the eggs, dk. At least that's what I'd do. :-)

I was visualizing fried eggs with a plaid pattern on the yolks. Not sure how that would even be possible, but that was my mental image.

Eggs with kilts. And bag pipes. (Actually, that would be depressing...bag pipes make me cry. Kilts are kind of cool though.)

Yeah, women sure do have a "thing" for kilts, I've noticed.

And it's weird that I have a thing for them! I don't get it at all... yet it's true. An actual skirt would be "disgusting" (since that word is getting thrown all over the place), but a kilt isn't disgusting. It makes NO sense. lol Maybe it has everything to do with the Scots that are wearing the kilt and not the kilt itself. ...maybe. Ex: Richard Simmons in a kilt would ruin the whole thing. (If anybody replies to this...keep the topic on KILTS.)

I think the Highlanders could move more quickly with the belted plaid. remember-no one in those days were wearing undies. I know, I watched Rob Roy. I have a thing for plaid. I love it. always have. I used to be the biggest pendleton wool plaid purchaser and maker of pleated skirts-but that was the 80s. I also once had an old victorian in which the den was covered in wool plaid carpet. I liked that too-even though it was from the 60s. when we were kids, it was popular to wear plaid skirts with a large gold safety pin pinning a front flap of the skirt closed. we accented this with knee highs and penny loafers . I thin it would be uncomfortable to have things bouncin around under there unprotected.

And uniforms. Lots of women also have a "thing" for uniforms. I was in a conversation not long ago with two women talking about UPS drivers... it got a little wild...

So here's a modest proposal: Put (male) UPS drivers in khaki kilts!

Well, maybe "modest" wasn't the right word there...

No, the kilts HAVE to be plaid. No to the khaki kilts!
(My husband wears a uniform....which is cool, I guess, but I prefer him in jeans and a T-shirt.) OH!, maybe I should get him a kilt...he has Scottish blood in him too.... naw..he'd never wear it. :( sigh.
