Oprah has a few skeletons in her closet that could be embarrassing in a presidential campaign. She's on video caught saying that older white folks "need to die." What she meant, of course, was that she felt racism was still a clear memory for some older people, and that it wouldn't be gone until that generation passed. I personally think she's delusional on that, but the hit comes from the statement sounding like she was encouraging people to stage geronticide.

She was close buds with Harvey Weinstein, and very likely knew about his craven behavior, only discovering it now that sex abuse has become the latest cause celebre.

She certainly is arrogant enough to run. When, in her speech, she used herself as the inspiration for a new generation of young black women, I wanted to gag. Forget about Rosa Parks, Condoleeza Rice, or any other memorable black women, when you have the great and glorious Oprah!

The Democrat field certainly could use some fresh blood, and there are younger, experienced Democrats eager to make a run at the White House. I don't think any of them will be particularly happy to see Oprah in the primaries.

Oprah is such a popular figure with so many Americans, she will present a problem to anyone that opposes her for the candidacy. How does any Democrat survive if he/she openly attacks such a revered figure? Trump survived vicious assaults because he appeared unflappable and willing to be as uncivilized as necessary to fight back. All Oprah will have to do is appear shocked, or in an extreme case, let a tear roll down her cheek when criticized, and the attacker will suffer ignominious condemnation and defeat.

Arrrgh!

Ready? No. Can I see it happening? Unfortunately, yes.

We've already endured one "O" at the White House. The last thing to country needs coming out of an 8 year slump is another "O" at the White House.

That means we would be going from the frying pan circa 2008-2016 into the fire if it happened circa 2020. but if that is what the bulk of the population wants, as nancy p says armageddon is not far behind

I just cant see Oprah meeting with Putin or any other head of state. She would be outclassed. She is basically a ghetto black, and it just wouldnt work.

Not to pound my own chest but I was, by far, the first to predict this. I've been saying "President Oprah" for at least a year now while my friends would just giggle and shake their heads, "There goes crazy Abaco again..." She's an extremely viable candidate. Her speech was rife with all kinds of emotion, victimhood and anything else needed to get elected in this day and age. Hillary's main problem, in my opinion, was a trail of dead bodies that was just a little too long. O has none of that, but everything else the media, leftists, etc. will gladly lap up. I was joking here in the office yesterday that "I hope I get a free car out of this."

Seriously...it'll likely rekindle my research into real estate in another country. Trump is just a great speedbump in the progressive program. And, when his time in office is through they'll kick in the afterburners.

All this talk in her speech of female victimhood while she did nothing about Weinstein all those years, while probably being the best-positioned to actually say something of substance about it. Nope...just more of the same...

Obama's political infrastructure is still intact. Oprah will be his proxy. Expect to see Barack back in the white house.

Where to live is a serious question and although it could be argued that one state versus another might present less of a challenge to keep your wealth there is no state here or any where in the world that will allow that. It becomes a matter of how to live unobserved and not bothering to vote for megalomaniac Oprah or Donald. The accepted paradigm is that someone must rule and as long as the voting mass desires, demands and subscribes to that any who desire to live free must remain quiet or be willing to be murdered.

I'd rather fancy Whoopi Goldberg as President. Black -- female -- Jewish name -- entertainment biggie -- represents every group that claims power. And she's genuinely funny.
